Three years on from debut album Sol29, Nosound returns with its highly anticipated second album, 'Lightdark', released through the Burning Shed label.
Regarded by critics and fans alike as one of the most interesting up and coming alt/art rock bands in Europe, Lightdark sees the Nosound identity evolve into something even more focused and powerful.
'Lightdark' inventively combines influences from '70s psychedelia, '80s/'90s ambient and contemporary alt/progressive rock.
Recorded in Italy, England and the US throughout 2006 and 2007, the album develops further the promise of debut album 'Sol29' and exhibits a stronger group identity which reveals a greater contrast between atmospheric detail and the walls of sound created by the band on stage.
Highlights include the 15 minute epic 'From Silence to Noise', the ethereal 'The Misplay' (with cellist Marianne DeChastelaine), and the epic piano/mellotron driven ballad 'Someone Starts To Fade Away' (which features No-Man's Tim Bowness on vocals).
The album includes a stylish 16 page booklet complete with photos and lyrics.

NOSOUND inventively combines influences from ’70s psychedelia,’80s/’90s ambient and contemporary alternative, post and progressive rock. In July 2008 the band signed to post-progressive label Kscope/Snapper.
A new 2 CD deluxe digipack edition of Lightdark album is being released on Kscope on September 15th 2008. The bonus disc features 4 tracks not on the original release and a promotional enhanced video track. Currently the band are planning to play a few festivals before returning to the studio later this year to start recording their 3rd release due in 2009.
The project was started as a one man studio project in late 2002 by Giancarlo Erra, but has since become a band in studio and live performances. Music is evocative and intense, with personal songwriting. Influences go from Pink Floyd to Brian Eno, from Porcupine Tree to Sigur Ros, passing through rock, electronic/ambient and postrock.Official debut album (‘Sol29’) was released the first quarter of 2005, followed in 2006 by a live Dvd (‘The World is Outside’) containing also unreleased material. A new live was issued in the first half of 2007 (‘Slow, it goes’). Anticipating the new album was then released an exclusive Ep (‘Clouds’), containing three out takes from new album recording sessions.

To coincide with the release of new album, the band’s celebrated debut release has been reissued in a remastered and recompiled final edition, ‘Sol29 (2008 remastered edition)’. ‘The Red Song’ and ‘The World Is Outside’ have been added (taken from the ‘Sol29’ studio sessions). Now sounding more detailed, clear and powerful, this is the definitive ‘Sol29’ edition and compiles all the music written during the first phase of Nosound’s evolution.
A DVD-r with unreleased material was released in May 2006 (now available on iTunes).
The second studio album called LIGHTDARK was first released in February 2008 on BurningShed (UK) label, featuring important collaborations with UK singer Tim Bowness (from No-Man) and Marianne DeChastelaine.

With Tim Bowness the band also performed live in Rome and in Foligno (Tony Levin opening), and more live dates will come. They also recorded together a bunch of new songs for another album/project to be issued in near future.
