Not For Resale lives inside THE PENTHOUSE on the FIRST THURSDAY of every month.
The night is dedicated to playing demos and independent/DIY releases from new bands around Brighton, the UK and beyond. We dig around the venues, streets and alleys looking for the bands on the edge of greatness, genius even, tapping into seams of never before imagined sounds because we want to hear it and let others hear it too. With no music policy other than an emphasis on Brighton demos and the newest most exciting, experimental, interesting music - we’ll play anything so long as we like it (although we're also known to play stuff we think is shit too, just to see what it sounds like again). Plus, we're up for spinning your tracks on the night if you bring something down.
Bands and artists - don't just add us; post us your demos so we can give them a play at our nights and post on our blog. Message us and ask for our address. xxx
Sample the sounds from our NFR nights with these cut out and keep mixes, featuring the best tracks from each month's underground releases and demo mayhem:
In April 2007 we launched our first NFR LIVE! club nightwhich ran for 1 whole pefectly formed year of free underground live bands with the Meat-Wolfe/Wolfe-Meat feral disco duo dropping phosphorescent dancing music of the most cutting edge, body rocking neon-diskko, ghetto-electro, mutant-indie, cosmic-psych, feral-rocking kinds. Then we killed it. We might bring it back at some point.
Felt Up! are hosting Brighton Zine Fest for an afternoon of workshops and talks on Zines and Craft.
We'll supply some materials but if you could bring your own glue/paper/scissors to subsidise what we have please do.
We
are also continuing our pillar sock for The Freebutt which is the
perfect chance to learn basic knitting. A square is all we ask, you can
bring one you made earlier and we'll add it to the whole thing.
(Last time we even taught left handed knitting!!)
We will be announcing our plans for december aswell.

FRIEND VOTE is the place for Artists with Friends, not fans. It's a page where you can find the very best music on Myspace by Artists that actually communicate with the people that take the time to comment on their pages. To join in, all you need to do is ask your friends to vote for one of your songs, if you get enough votes you appear in the chart, if you appear in the chart you will get more friends, if you get to No.1 your page views and song plays will increase significantly! All the best, hope to see you in the chart soon. Keith@FV. http://www.myspace.com/indietop100 http://www.twitter.com/indietop100

So it turns out, someone is actually crazy enough to let us play a gig! I know, we're not sure what they are thinking either, maybe they hate the people that come to their night? or maybe they can smell the future and it's wearing a lab coat and goggles... Friday 9th Oct Prince Albert we're on about 9pm - £4 in.
So THIS SATURDAY (Sept 12th) OIB Records will host a VERY special show at Audio in Brighton with three of our favourite alt-folk acts VETIVER (Bella Union) + TINY VIPES (Sub Pop) + ROWAN COUPLAND (Willkommen Records). There's been a lot of interest in this show but there's still some tickets available from the links below, we've also put a select number aside for sale on the night.
