I originally founded Novak in 2006 as an experimental musical project. I released two EPs on my own label, Dragline Recordings, "In Ruins", in 2006, then "Fathom" in 2008. I also contributed a "re-interpratation" of the Live Aid song "Do They Know It's Christmas" for a charity compilation put out by Fourier Transform in 2007.
After that I became a bit disillusioned with what I was doing. Work and life got complicated, so I folded the project. I continued making music under a variety of names, but nothing of any value.
So now I have decided to resurrect Novak, and kind of pick up where I left off. Hopefully something interesting will come of this.
Hi - apologies for slack response, been a mad week. Glad you liked. Nice stuff here also, especially 'Savage'. The myspace player is ultra buggy/useless right now (at least from where I'm sitting) so need to come back for a proper listen to all. Best Tx
Yeah, when it's played non-ambiently it sounds like a mix of Iggy pop's "passenger" and the strokes "heart in a cage." I was kind of paranoid about the passenger similarity, but people said it wasn't too noticable.
I'm also jealous of successful noisemaking.... i wish i had the gear to do it. (gas)
Aw, thanks - we were trying to go for some hybrid of my bandmate's classic synth pop with my indie-rock leanings... hopefully we'll be able to get even more more bass fuzz on the next one. But then, I always want more fuzz...
