Eurovision fans will be familiar with Nucha who represented Portugal
with the
song Ha Sempre Alguem (There's always someone) at
the 1990
Eurovision Song Contest held in Zagreb which ranked in 20th place.
She was born
in 1966 in Agueda, Portugal.
Nucha kicked off her musical career at the tender age of 13 and since
then
has enjoyed success and fame in the Portuguese musical scene. She
has released
several albums since her Eurovision days. She has gained recognition for
her
music both in her home Portugal and overseas.
Nucha's latest album Regresso ( Return) has just been
released containing 12 songs composed by Rafael Artesero the man behind
the
Andorran Eurovision entries Sense Tu (2006) and La Mirada
Interior. Rafael was also resposible for the song La Reina
De La
Noche along with Jose Juan Santana (OGAE Spain president) which was
the
runner up at the Mision Eurovision 2007 final.
The title of Nucha's new album ' Regresso' (Return) was
inspired by Nucha's
return to Rock and Blues, her return to Ovacao the company that released
her
first album and her return to the studio. This new project came to
be thanks to
Jose Juan Santana- a fan of Nucha's who contacted the
Portuguese singer and
introduced her to Rafael Artesero and hence Regresso was born!
