Metro DPS security agents are employees of Swindle Management Inc., but are not sworn law enforcement officers and are not armed with deadly weapons. They are civilians who assist Sheriff officers, Police Officers, State Troopers, and other law enforcement agencies and perform activities such as traffic control, minor accident reports and assisting the public. Crime Statistics, how can security help?
Answer: Did you know each time the police are called to your property a record and file is kept? These are called crime statistics or call history and several other names by different departments. These records or files can be obtained by any customer, citizen, future renter or future buyer of your property etc. No matter if it's a noise complaint, party, suspicious person, loud t.v.. radio, people hanging out etc, they all go down on file. Especially in an apartment complex if you have a future renter or a future buyer of the property check and see hundreds of calls to that address for the year, it could effect his/her decision to rent or buy there as it might appear you have major issues there. By contracting with a private security agency and encouraging your residents to call security for non life threatening , non criminal issues security could respond and handle 90% of the calls such as noise issues, parties, etc. These calls will not appear on any crime statistics or police call history available to the public, thus your rating or file will be normal or even better than normal to the average property in your area. Police do report a decrease in crime in certain areas here and there, and they base it on the level of calls for service. What they don't tell the public is that if there are security companies in the area being proactive and making a difference, this plays a major factor in those calls and statistics going down. Your crime statistic for your property will be be a major factor to future buyers and renters, you don't want a high number, and we can help with that. But most importantly provide you with great service.
Why the need for private security when we have public police?
Answer: No private security service is ever intended to take the place of local law enforcement at any time, however private security offers another level,or a "tailored" layer of additional protection to the client's needs. Local law enforcement provides a valuable public service to the city, but with that said they are also overworked and sometimes under-manned. These facts affect you as with the high volume of calls, police agencies have, they have to prioritize their calls, and their patrol areas. As a private security company we are able to focus our attention to only our clients, as opposed to a whole city, thus providing fast response times, and more attention to your property. And what might seem like petty little issues to your local police department, are a major concern and are a priority to us. In regards to alarm responses, some large city departments are no longer responding to "unverified" alarm activations, or will even bill you after a false alarm. We will respond to all your alarms and standby until a technician arrives to repair a faulty system. Police departments, also cannot patrol, check, guard or baby-sit your one property throughout the night, we can as it's our job, and sole duty in life. But again we are not hear to take the place of your public service, just provide you with another layer of protection, which you, are in control of.
