Wide range - Hypocrisy, Immortal, Morbid Angel, Amon Amarth, Emperor, Behemoth, Vader, Nile, to name a few. Most of our music is conjured without direct inspiration from other bands, per se. The atmospheres we often try to evoke are influenced by the concepts of insanity, rage, violence, mental sickness, crime, the occult, plagues, Biblical and pagan prophecy... anything that suits the music.
It all started with 3 death metal fans and longtime friends. Almost on a whim, drummer David, bassist Craig and vocalist Chris decided to start death metal band. Lead guitarist Brett was quickly recruited, and Cory took up the duties on rhythm guitar. It began as a run-of-the-mill gore metal act by the name of Soul Evisceration, and with time the band began a strange evolution into something a bit more progressive. Gory brutality was fun and fulfilling for a while, but with time it became redundant. The compositions became (as they continue to do so) more complex, as did the lyrical themes. Obisidan Throne became the new name for the new sound. The first demo, titled, "Pandemic" was recorded in May of 2006 at Nomad Studios with engineer JT Longoria. In May 2007, Obsidian Throne returned to Nomad studios with producer JT Longoria to record a 7-track EP entitled, 'Behind the Veil,' which was later released in September 2007. Currently, new material is being written for (hopefully) the band's debut album, as the band continues to grow as musicians. Affiliated band: KRIGSGRAV.
Opened for such bands as Kataklysm, Destruction, Vader, Graveworm, Decapitated, Krisiun, Six Feet Under, Abysmal Dawn, Sworn Enemy, and many more!
Just curious. Are you guys planning on releasing or working on a new album? Love the tunes. I put Behind the Veil on my zune and listen to it at work alot. It gets me pumped and ready to conquer the day. Stay metal!

Unfortunately the August 16th show is a done deal man. We are interested in doing very short strings of dates that are out of state. We'd like to do Friday, Saturday, Sunday kind of deal in Arizona or Mexico. We'd also like go up to Northn California but I don't know that you guys would want to travel that far for two or three dates. Let me know, if you're interested we'll talk about doing something.
what would be the odds of tryin to bring yall down for a show... cuz we know this bar is open for bringin in more shows, they let us book during the weekends since thatll be the only way to get a real great crowd.
