Below are 5 videos of awesome live footage ranging from OCTANIC’s massive ‘INDUSTRY’ EP Launch @ Live On Light Square last year to Our first June 09 show at Enigma.
‘Addict’ a relatively new song is first up, then comes their now infamous Rob Zombie ‘Superbeast’ cover with the wicked OCTANIC “twist”. The combination ‘Master / Nightmare’s Charm’ is next, followed by ‘One Life’ which has a Terminator theme intro; and rounding out the video proceedings is another crowd fave ‘Purging The Maelstrom’.
OCTANIC are a 6-piece metal band from Adelaide, Australia who seamlessly fuse together elements of NWOAHM, modern metal and hard rock, laced with classical and orchestral undertones. This combination gives OCTANIC the aggressiveness, punch and intensity of metal with the melodic and epic sounds of a movie score, engaging and captivating audiences everywhere. OCTANIC’s addictive blend of majestic keyboards, bone-crunching rhythms and soaring lead solos, coupled with passionate vocals and compelling lyrics have endeared them to a great many fans.
Since first gracing the stage in 2007, OCTANIC’s professional and hard-working ethos has built them considerable momentum and respect, through regular headline spots as well as their coordination and management of a number of quality metal events, thus carving their own niche in the local metal scene and clearly aspiring to greater success on both the national and international arenas.
After releasing their impressive 2-disc debut EP ‘Industry’ in April 08 to great reviews OCTANIC are now writing powerful new material for their first full length release due out in 2010. As yet untitled OCTANIC’s forthcoming album will truly encapsulate their distinctive sound and style and is sure to please metal fans world wide.

Here’s just a sample of what reviewers have been saying about ‘INDUSTRY’:
"A truly original sound that is fresh, boldly artistic and yet is still blatantly heavy enough to crack foot thick concrete." Jd Wheels (Senior Writer) - Metalbite.com, Canada
“INDUSTRY unfolds to become a compelling and relevant debut release for OCTANIC to deliver upon the local scene.” And “…the group has succeeded in pulling some great sounds, while simultaneously injecting a feeling of dynamic change which keeps the listener engaged.”
Stu Wright - Music S.A, Australia
“Agreeably rousing, OCTANIC’s impressive recording ‘INDUSTRY’ is an extremely professional album for a local band to have recorded, and the union of its highly wrought themes, lyricism and monumental songwriting is admirable.” and "…the recording is one of the most engaging metal offerings from an Adelaide band in a long while." Stephen Davenport - dB Magazine, Australia
“As varied as the individual parts are, the sum that is Octanic's Industry is an intriguing offering of Industrial Metal that will appeal to a wide-ranging audience.” Harvest Moon Music, Kentucky, USA.
"Mixing ‘Gothenburg’ infused metal with so many varieties of music - Classical, Industrial and raucous Classic rock as well... even a dash of the Swedish shredder Yngwie Malmsteen’s expertise." Jd Wheels (Senior Writer) Metalbite.com, Canada
“The use of Keyboard on this E.P. is quite exceptional and appears in multiple complex forms; from adding syncopated feel over riffing guitars to filling dead noise, the expressiveness and use of this instrument for overall orchestration is extremely intuitive and impressive for a debut recording.” And “In delivery, Shepherdson has a great variety of range and tone, with variance throughout proceedings from James Hetfield to Rob Zombie, Jonathan Davis to (dare I say it) Daniel Johns.” Stu Wright - Music S.A, Australia
"There’s a degree of technical proficiency in these songs that separates OCTANIC from many of its transition-metal peers." and "Beside the growls and the industrial strength thumping, there’s a heightened tunefulness along with a broad emotive quality that should enable OCTANIC to relate to a massive fan base." Stephen Davenport - dB Magazine, Australia
"Their epic cyber metal at times recalls bands such as Fear Factory, In Flames and Strapping Young Lad, but OCTANIC already have forged their own distinctive sound." James McKenzie - dB Magazine (Live review from 'Industry' EP Launch), Australia
“Fear Factory, Linkin Park, Rob Zombie, Metallica (all Bay Area bands essentially), Evanescence, DragonForce, you name it influence wise it's all in here…and more. An involving and highly competent debut.” Stu Wright - Music S.A, Australia
"This Australian outfit more than deserves your attention." Harvest Moon Music, Kentucky, USA.
"Originality: 10/10 (They just are... deal with it)" Jd Wheels (Senior Writer) Metalbite.com, Canada
