1992
- Formed by Marcus E. Norman in Umeå, Sweden under the name 'Ancient'. The demotape "In the Eye of the Serpent" is recorded.
1993
- After the release of "In the Eye of the Serpent" the band changes name into Ancient Wisdom and in December, the second demotape "Through Rivers of the Eternal Blackness" is recorded.
Signs a record deal with the Italian label Avantgarde Music.
1994
- In December, the debutalbum "For Snow Covered the Northland" is recorded. Due to some technical errors this album is not released until 1996, and during this time Marcus E. Norman decides to continue Ancient Wisdom on his own.
1996
- "For Snow Covered the Northland" is released.
1997
- The release of "The Calling".
1998
- First meant to be a mini-cd, the first part of "...and the Physical Shape of Light Bled" is recorded.
1999
- The decision is made to release a fullength album instead. More material is composed and recorded at the end of November.
2000
- "...and the Physical Shape of Light Bled" is released.
2003
- The fourth fullenght album, "Cometh Doom, Cometh Death" is recorded.
2004
- The release of "Cometh Doom, Cometh Death".
