HEAVEN SHALL BURN Bildersturm - Iconoclast II (the Visual Resistance)
Once upon a time in Thuringia (Germany)…some young lads decided to start a band as they felt united by the same passion for metal, hardcore, and punk, and were looking for a way to voice their strong political beliefs and social criticism! This was the beginning of Germany’s most successful modern metal act HEAVEN SHALL BURN who celebrated a meteoric rise during the past years culminating in the chart success of their latest album “Iconoclast (Part One: The Final Resistance)” (2008) - 21 in the German top 100 as well as chart entries in Austria, Switzerland, and Greece! The band’s phenomenal success story is built upon unbelievably intense live shows worldwide, smart socially and politically aware lyrics and devastating songs uniting influences from Bolt Thrower and At The Gates with a strong hardcore ethic.
Now, the band’s first official DVD and live album is destined to continue HEAVEN SHALL BURN’s success with pro-shot high quality footage from last year’s Summer Breeze Festival – the multiple “wall of death” and moshpit carnage needs to be seen to be believed – and a sold out club show at Vienna’s Gasometer with thousands of people literally going berserk! The latter was filmed with 10 cameras, 2 camera cranes and kids wearing a camera helmet and throwing themselves into the chaos in front of the stage whereas the sound was mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen. Overall the live part of “Bildersturm - Iconoclast II (The Visual Resistance)” will not leave anyone disappointed and will blow your speakers with a fantastic 5.1 sound!
In addition to that, the DVD includes the stunning over 60 minutes long documentary “Leitmotiv” that provides a rather different insight into the world and minds of HEAVEN SHALL BURN. Where humour in other “metal documentaries” usually stresses vulgarities, “Leitmotiv” comes along with highly inventive, extremely entertaining ideas driven by a humour that is as dry as the Sahara, true to the band’s motto “putting the iron into irony” and hardly rivalled in the metal community!
As bonus features the over 300 minutes long double DVD offers all promo clips (incl. the new video for the Edge Of Sanity-cover “Black Tears”) as well as backstage, on-tour, and further live footage, a cooking with HEAVEN SHALL BURN feature, a full rehearsal and much more.
Rounded off by stunning packaging, a lyrical continuation of the Iconoclast Story and artwork by Bastian Sobtzick (Callejon, War From A Harlots Mouth), “Bildersturm - Iconoclast II (The Visual Resistance)” is easily one of the best heavy music DVDs you will see this year!

Also erst einmal Großes Lob für Eure DVD, die ist der Hammer. Echt klasse live-Auftritte und Hintergrundstories. Wir die Band Morrighan freuen uns schon auf Leipzig Werk 2, denn dort sind wir vollständig vertreten (Natürlich nur im Publikum...Schade). Dann lasst es krachen.
Wär wahnsinnig toll, wenn Ihr auf dem Wacken 2010 spielen könntet, denn da wollen wir auch hin. Ihr erkennt uns, wenn ihr in den Circle Pit bzw. die Wall of Death schaut. ;-P Viel Erfolg weiterhin.
