Michel’le Toussaint (Born 1970) is an R & B vocalist. She is known for her squeaky, child like speaking voice which is a startling contrast to her strong vocals. The singer was originally signed to Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records. In 1989, she released Michel’le .Her self titled debut album was entirely produced by then boyfriend Dr. Dre. The album contained the classic “No More Lies” and the hit single “Nicety” and “something in my Heart” Michel’le sold 1.5 million copies.
Ruthless Records was splitting apart. Dre, convinced Eazy-E was withholding profit from N.W.A sales, left the label and started Death Row Records with Suge Knight.
Eazy-E refused to release Michel’le and Dr. Dre from their Ruthless Records contracts.
Supposedly, Suge and Dre extorted Eazy with metal pipes and baseball bats and forced
Him to release Dr. Dre, Michel’le and the D.O.C so he could sing them to Death Row.
Michel’le made occasional guest appearances, notably on the single “Let’s Play House” with Tha Dogg Pound in 1996 on Death Row Records. Michel’le released her second
And Death Row’s fifteenth album called Hung Jury in 1998. Her sophomore effort
Did not come near her success of her first selling only 297,000 copies to date.
She has also appeared on the following TV shows; Arsenio Hall Show,
The Tonight Show, BET, Regis & Kathy Lee, CNN, Soultrain
Personal life
Following Dre’s departure from Death Row, Michel’le and Dre parted ways
Rumor had it Michel’le, began a fairytale relationship with Suge Knight.
Michel’le had a child with Dr. Dre, Marcel, and a child with Suge Knight
Bailei. Soon after the child birth of Bailei, The relationship ended.
Status as an artist on Death Row is unknown but believed to be dissolved.
Rumor has it she is working with producers on her own at this time.
Her most recent music was contribution to the dysfunctional family soundtrack
In 2003. She has since confirmed through several media outlets that she’s been
Working on new material and looking for a new home for third effort in 2007 / 2008.
