Formed in the winter of 2008, O’Holloran set out with a suitcase full of “old-time” and traditional folk music, heading toward a landscape of unorthodox beats and innovative melodies. Now “old-time” was labeled a genre around 1923 – just one year before O’Holloran’s lead singer/songwriter’s home was built in Northwest Denver. And like old houses, old music gives you the feeling of belonging to something – something that’s seen more than you have. But stay in that old house long enough and the roof is sure to cave. Preserve and progress is O’Holloran’s maxim. Keep the old and create the new.
