The band Omerta is founded in July 2004. Tijs (guitars) and Sven (ex-vocals) had the idea of beginning a metal band because they missed something in their previous bands. After some auditions they found a bass player Basten and a drummer Frederik. They started rehearsing but also searched for a second guitar player and a second vocalist to complete the line-up and adding more power to the overall sound. Kenneth on guitar and Frodo on second vocals (ex-vocals Vanity, Reduced To A Whisper, Abandoned) were chosen to join the band and the line-up was complete. In the summer of 2005 Sven left the band for personal reasons but was immediately replaced by Pieter (ex-vocals Solifugia, Tronius Mind R.I.P ) .
Due to all the different influences from our band members we developed into a more brutal style of metal core, mixing death metal, thrash and hardcore into one. In January 2006 we had our first gig and it was a blast receiving very positive reactions from both crowd and critics. We played 24 shows with a lot of cool bands but in December 2006 we decided to part ways with our drummer. Mathew, who also drummed in Invictrius (RIP) and in Guilty As Charged, replaced him. 2007 started with a new line-up bringing the music to a higher level filled with new ideas and recording plans for a first release. This year we released our first MCD "Blacken the days of man” and since then we’re playing as much shows as we can to promote our MCD to the public, organizers and media.

Now some other news concernig the line-up, Basten decided to leave the band to focus himself completely on his studies. No hard feelings whatsoever between us all and we allready found a new bassplayer. Lester Klaassen (ex. California, Man And Machine) joins OMERTA, adding more 4-string madness and bringing you more METAL and less CORE in 2009!!!! HORNZ UP!!!!
