1989, UK Soul & Hip Hop and scene had evolved into a movement and my passion for music came from me doing graffiti and flyer designs for Dj Mo (Silver Bullet) & Black Radical MKII.
1991, inspired by this scene I started a production team with Harry Brown & Simon S Called 'Aztec Productions'. We opened a studio in my cousins basement, Junior AKA Dubwise, Formally of Tongue 'N' Cheek (the oldskool readers will remember the one wearing the round flip down glasses).
1993, Started an album project and band featuring Dubwise & Joytay. We gave free studio time in exchange for session playing on the project. This was probably the biggest influence on my creativity as working with so many different types of musicians and artist brought a lot of experimentation into our music. We toured recorded with Dubwise for 2 years and did not manage to find a record label that fully understood us, the old art verses pop debate. (In hind sight, understandable to a point). As a result the project fizzled out.
1995, an experimental project Called Nocturnal Flavours (Random studio experiments at 3am!) Simon and I had done over the years started to find form, and became our main focus and also a rejection to the 'Industries' pressure to conform. Mixing, Hip Hop, Indie, Soul, Jazz, Classical & Poetry, it featured Dubwise, Vanessa Williams (Manifest), Nanar Vorperian (Break Reform), Phil Harper (Lifeforce), Randolph Matthews, Jake Telford, Paul Allen, Julie Dexter (J-Life) and Jason Yarde (J-life). Although this project was completely independent and only licensed through a friends label, it was probably the most fulfilling and successful project we did. Two tracks from the album did particularly well, Shadows Fall feat Nanar Vorperian and Peace of Mind feat Julie Dexter.
1997, Decided to hang up my headphones for a while and got into multi-media design, worked doing this for 5 years (regular pay is so comforting) music drifted into a hobby as my career became more demanding and I focused more on Multi Media Marketing.
2005, I co-founded a Urban Marketing company called 360X with our and Spacek's former manger Jason Knight. During this time I'd still been creating music or beats from my bedroom' and in 2005 Simon S asked me to release some of this music as remixes for Break Reform and also to release it as an EP featuring Deborah Jordan for his Futuristica Music label.. Here are a few of the tracks it will feature. Unfortunately only the bedroom instrumentals as we are still recording.
The Ep should be out mid to end of 2006. I hope you like.. Pce
Ps tried to keep it short but guess did not work..
