One Leg Up, from Asheville, NC, plays acoustic swing in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. They have been performing together since 2003. This Parisian style of jazz is an upbeat swing with a repertoire of 1920s, 30s, and 40s jazz standards, originals, and modern jazz tunes. The members of One Leg Up have opened the traditional gypsy style to influences of big band music and the blues. One Leg Up is one of the few bands that plays this Django-style swing in the southeast. Their show is lively, intimate, danceable, and brings about the atmosphere of a sociable 1930's French café.
They are available as a wedding band, jazz band, a swing dance band, festival group, and for corporate event entertainment.
They are a favorite NC wedding band and NC event band.
