Open Beats is a group of dj's, musicians and artists based in Birmingham. We delve through funk, hiphop, breaks, dnb, electro, techno, Dubstep and everything in between. We put on nights in Birmingham, often at venues like the top notch Rainbow in Digbeth, blending a range of styles and sometimes showcasing live art and visuals to accompany the beats. We are also students at Birmingham City Uni studying music and design related courses. OB = Eclectic party beatage!
Check out Mindstorm and Glide's newest DrumnBass release on Mindstorm Records "Future Music Sessions Volume 1". It features 4 tracks starting off with Mindstorm offering up some of the old sounds of DnB with "Destiny" and "Sudden Movement" followed by Glide bringing the new and current sound with his tunes "Funkadelicious" and "Apoptosis". Definately a favorite for old and new school fans alike. Hope you enjoy and thanks for the support, cheers!

OK, listen up, This is your weekend. I've got an awesome gig for you on Friday and for the very reasonable price of four squids. It's the ever impressive Mr. Elephant at The Hare 'n' Hounds in Kings Heath. There's free CDs and Kazoos and all sorts of cabaret based behaviour as well as the usual excelent line up of bands and DJs (including Marc Reck and Lopan), undoubtedly some drumming shenanigans and probably some drinks offers too.
On Saturday it's the last Dirty Soul System Allnighter at The Church Inn. If you've not been before, this is your last chance. If you have, you know you won't want to miss this. It'll be another blend of beats covering Dubstep, Breakbeat and D&B and all for the very reasonable price of absolutely buck Shee! I'm warning you now, you may find yourself staggering out of the place in a semi-deranged state at 9 O'clock Sunday morning.
So there you go. A whole weekend of quality raving for £4.
