PodLinux is an open source venture into porting Linux onto the iPod. So far, we have successfully ported a customized uClinux (http://www.uclinux.org) kernel to the iPod, and written a simple user interface for it dubbed podzilla. One of the largest and most recognized companies dedicated to open source software. It is also the largest distributor of the GNU/Linux operating system. Red Hat was founded in 1993 and has its corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina with satellite offices worldwide.

Often abbreviated as PCLOS, is a desktop Linux distribution. It is a free operating system for personal computers aimed at ease of use. PCLinuxOS is distributed as a LiveCD, which can also be installed to a local hard disk drive. When used as a LiveCD, it can work with a USB flash drive, where the user's configuration and personal data are saved. Once locally installed on a PC's hard drive, the user of PCLinuxOS can add, remove or update packages by utilising the Advanced Packaging Tool (or APT), a package management system (originally from the Debian distribution), together with Synaptic Package Manager, a GUI frontend to APT.

KNOPPIX is a bootable Live system on CD or DVD, consisting of a representative collection of GNU/Linux software, automatic hardware detection, and support for many graphics cards, sound cards, SCSI and USB devices and other peripherals.

A Linux distribution originally conceived as an operating system to run on lower specification systems, including computers which would otherwise come out of use. The distribution contrasts to most other Linux distributions by ranking hardware requirements of programs above other considerations.

    Hello. Google chrome for Linux is great. But I too use Firefox most, like 94%. I think because of the add-ons, and bookmarks style. Maybe I'm just accustom.

    hey donald hows it going, just wanted to let u know that I got offered a computer position for a elementary school district, i finally got it, and well it had been 5months since i was trying to land a job, since then, it was very difficult since all of the layoffs and cuts are going on southern cal, but now that i get my opportunity, its great! I've put some extra thing on myspace page so explorer more linux, ur site offers alot of rescoures and love the fact the u have lots of linux distributions links and lots of linux info.
