"A sincere friendship expressed musically in this impressive debut outing" - Andy Milne, Dapp Theory

"The sound these three gentlemen create is far from basic jazz...giving jazz lovers and non-jazz lovers a groove that invokes a plethora of emotions and allows them to let go and live in the moment...Origin Blue is not only a jazz trio, they are also 'Masters of the Moment' with an eclectic sound that can be simply described as "Feel Good" music" - Glendale News-Press

"A drop dead gorgeous interpretation of Soundgarden's 'Black Hole Sun'. For that alone they're worth checking out" - LA Weekly

Drawing influences from nearly everything that crosses their path, ORIGIN BLUE creates music that is both easily recognizable and hard to categorize. The genre-bending trio combines all styles of music from funk to modern/contemporary jazz to rock and distills them into sounds that are as thought-provoking as they are danceable. The group has performed their music in venues worldwide, including the Blue Note Milan and Catalina's Jazz Club in Hollywood, and they have collaborated with such celebrated musicians as saxophonist Francesco Bearzatti. Their debut album, May I Say You Something?, was released in November 2009.

ISAMU MCGREGOR is a jazz pianist/keyboardist who spends time in both Manhattan and Los Angeles. He has studied with a number of distinguished musicians, including Wayne Krantz, Jean-Michel Pilc, Chris Potter, Andy Milne, Greg Burk and Don Friedman, and he has performed with artists such as Bennie Maupin and Francesco Bearzatti at venues across the globe, including the Blue Note Milan, Catalina's Jazz Club and BB King's in Los Angeles and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His melodic and lively playing along with his natural musical instincts make him an often-sought musician and collaborator. (myspace.com/isamumcgregor)

EVAN CRANE is an upright and electric bassist currently living in New York City. His wide array of influences (past teachers include Martin Wind, Tony Moreno, Andy Milne, and Mike Richmond) and unique approach to groove and melody form a musical melting pot very much akin to the cultural diversity of the city in which he resides. Fueled by his passionate devotion to his craft and his determined and professional attitude, Evan is full of self-expression and creativity and seeks to form new horizons in the world of music. JEFF HATCHER is a creative and well-rounded drummer who is currently enrolled in the Jazz Studies program at New York University. His wholistic understanding of music comes from his studies under a variety of accomplished musicians including Tony Moreno, Andy Milne, Mike Richmond, John Scofield, and Billy Drewes. Jeff has further developed his musical talents outside of the United States by traveling to Trinidad and Tobago, where he studied and performed with the country's renowned percussion group, Drummers of Tomorrow.
