Naci directo a inaugurar los 80's, en la ciudad de Tijuana, Mexico. Y gracias a la vida fronteriza, a Prince, Alaska y sobre todo despues de ver a Michael Jackson pasar de negro a blanco, creci creyendo que las fronteras eran para ser cruzadas. Ahora, a mis veintitantos, sigo creyendo lo mismo...
About the artist:
Orlando is a singer-songwriter that hails from the streets of Tijuana, arguably one of the meanest, busiest and most inspiring borders in the world. His music has developed organically around these surroundings where creativity and survival are fiercely correlated.
He embarked on a musical quest ten years ago playing with local bands while listening to Radiohead, Cocteau Twins and Edith Piaf. In 2003 he started working on his own material to further develop his songwriting and a very personal way of singing that has garnered him the hype of sensitive-yet-modern audiophiles from around the world.
In 2005 he self-released an EP produced by acclaimed Mexico City dj and producer Uriel Esquenazi (Bn Loco, Noiselab/Sonic 360) and toured major cities in Mexico, California and Spain. Orlando has shared stage with the likes of Nortec Collective, Nouvelle Vague and Jose Gonzalez while single handedly carving himself a whole new category of his own.
His forthcoming debut album, "Capullo" (spanish for bud or cocoon), was produced by Angelo Gastelum and is in it's final post-production/mix state under the helm of genius sound crafter Fernando Corona (Murcof, Static/ The Leaf Label).
