Othon is a composer, songwriter and a pianist. He took his first piano lessons at the age of 4 and gave his debut concert at the age of 5. Soon, he became a sought after young pianist in his native Greece performing in concert halls, TV and radio (ERT 1, ANT1 Blue Sky etc.). He won several national competitions, including the X.O.N. At 18, Othon came in London to study piano at the Royal College of Music, under the Romantics Master, Dr Peter Katin. After completing his piano studies he obtained his composition diploma from Birkbeck University with Distinction. In addition, he obtained a scholarship to study composition at Postgraduate Level at Trinity College of Music from where he graduated in 2006.
During the last few years Othon has been performing increasingly less as a conventional pianist and more as a creator of his own works. He has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, from poets and dancers to fellow composers and bands including Peter Christopherson (Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, Coil), Stephen Montague, the Elysian Quartet, Lee Adams, Julie Tolentino, Current 93, Black Sun Productions, Dominic Johnson, Vaginal Davies and Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo. He has contributed to feature films ("Otto or Up With The Dead People" by Bruce LaBruce), fashion films ("Komakino" and "Sofia" for the collections of Filep Motwary and Maria Mastori) and numerous short/art films. In addition, he has performed live soundtracks to "The Angelic Conversation" (by Derek Jarman) and "Nekromantik" (by Jörg Buttgereit). As a performer, Othon has appeared in festivals such us Post Romantic Empire - Rome, Donau Festival - Krems, Lost In Thyme - Athens and All Tomorrow's Parties - Minehead. He has contributed to events and happenings like Nasir Mazhar's London Fashion Week spring/summer 2008 show, "Dave's Drop In Centre'" show by David Hoyle and "Gay Icons" at the National Portrait Gallery. Othon’s music has been featured in several radio stations in Europe and the US and one of his performances has been broadcasted live on Spanish National Radio 3. Recently, Othon was commissioned to write a score for Ron Athey's large scale work "The History of Ecstasy", which was performed in Naples as part of the Naples Theatre Festival.
In 2006 Othon formed a long-term collaboration with actor/singer/performer Ernesto Tomasini. Othon & Tomasini have been performing Othon’s songs around the UK and in Europe in venues as diverse as churches, concert halls and theatres (Queen Elizabeth Hall - London, Teatro al Albeitar – León, Riverside Studios - London, Royal Exchange Theatre – Manchester, Palacio de la Ahondiga - Zamora, Festsalen Concert Hall - Copenhagen), museums and art centres (Centro de Arte Contemporànea – Santiago de Compostella, International Museum of Applied Arts Today - Turin) and even in seedy London underground club nights (Kaos, HustlaBall). In November 2009, Othon & Tomasini performed at the Roundhouse, London, as Marc Almond's special guests, in front of a captive audience of 3000.
Othon has recently released his debut album Digital Angel (via Durtro-Jnana), which includes unique interpretations of his songs by Marc Almond, David Tibet and Ernesto Tomasini.

After the release of Digital Angel, Othon has been working on the writing of his 2nd and 3rd album. He is hoping to start recording in the next few months.

He will be aided by his close collaborator Ernesto Tomasini who is also going to be starring in the show. Its unveiling is expected to happen in May 2010.

ThanXXX for the add. My plan was to come to the concert in november ,but...I couldn't. Of course one of the next ones. If one sees you guys ,we want to see you more...good thoughts to you .
We were so sorry to miss your recent show at The Roundhouse, by all accounts - it sounds as if it was truly amazing! If at any point you had a free minute or 10, do check our new tracks that we recorded towards the end of summer with Jemsky, A new direction, a new dictation - but still the same old dictator.
Well hello Othon. After meeting Marc ( Almond ) tuning the piano for his new album I arrived at the Roundhouse and heard you at the piano. I had worked at the Roundhouse for The RSC no less and now, there you were amazing and baffling me with this audio assault. Passion, humour, drama and a new artist on my list of life's rich GAY tapestry. I had seen Marc perform many years ago at Heaven, I have seen Lyndsay Kemps Alice and Michael Clarke with Leigh Bowery at Sadlers Wells. And now this wonderous vision. I will now follow you and share your work with my friends. Marvellous ! and thank you.
ps if you ever need a piano tuner you can find me on Londonpianotuner.co.uk xx
