Ozan Yelkalan aka Ozzyxpm
was born in Istanbul in February, 1978. He has been interested in music since early on in life, listening to heavy metal in early teen years. He later lost interest in metal music and started listening to rock.
Then came a big transition in life when Ozan moved to Vienna to pursue her undergraduate degree. Among new friends and a completely different lifestyle, he found herself in the world of electronic music. His first encounter with this genre was at a school party where he listened to Carl Cox. "I fell in love with this music," says ozan , recalling that night. He later found himself more and more involved in electronic music. Initially, he was more interested in the techno genre which made him spend most of his time in places with techno music in Vienna and occasionally travelling to Germany and Switzerland to hang out at techno clubs there.
Ozan met with Trance music in 1999 when he first listened to DJ Tiesto at the Love Parade in Berlin. "The magic of trance music made me fall in love with it," he says.
Ozan performed in university parties, which helped him clinch a spot in some of the clubs in Vienna-Swiss -Turkey and some live events.
But his return back home, Turkey, in the years 2000-2002 saw him part ways with music, though temporarily, due to his mandatory military duty. But he never lost interest or connection to music which made return to his DJ career in 2003--this time for good.
Ozan worked at many hotels along Turkey's Mediterranean coast, having lived as a resident DJ at large hotels until 2008. Through the owners of the hotel I was working for, in 2008 I met a businessman living in Netherlands who owns several clubs in Utrecht and Amseterdam. Thanks to this, I'll be pursuing a career in Netherlands starting in March 2009.
I met Turkey's most well-known and popular electronic music portan Dance4Trance. I'ms till the chief editor of the D4T radio.
Among my ambitions is to prove myself in the field of production and I have been working hard for this since the beginning of this year. To this end, I set up a band with close friend and reputable colleague Fidel Ekin Efe aka Swashbuckler with the alias "future projects." We want to do joint projects in trance and its likes in the future.
My career as a radio dj began for earnes in 2007 with a position at setfm. Following that, I worked for radiox, dance4trance, Proclubbinfm, Odu.fm and danceradio.gr
