The Palace operators have moved to the newly named
PALACE THEATRE (formerly Metro Melbourne)
20 - 30 Bourke Street Melbourne 3000 Australia
The venue was established in 1860, and after being rebuilt in 1912, was known as the National Amphitheatre. Following many name changes during its 147 year history, the venue was also known as the Palace Theatre between 1916 and 1934.
As new owners we have undertaken major renovations to restore many of the theatre’s original features. This includes the removal of the silver cladding at the front of the building and restoration of art deco features.
Since the 1980’s, The Metro was predominantly a night club which also held live events. The current renovations will enhance the live aspects with the removal of the glass wall on level 1, the relocation of the central bar on the ground floor to the side of the building, raised floor level at the rear of ground floor and removal of internal lighting poles which has vastly improved sightlines.
The Palace Theatre is Melbourne’s premier entertainment, live music and function venue located in the heart of Melbourne’s business & tourism district.
Hey Guys...thanks for a ROCKIN' night at your awesome venue! And thanks for getting onboard our WINGS OF STEEL...enjoy the metal ride! Hope to see you guys again soon.
Sorry for another comment, I just wanted to let you know that PART 3 of my New Track Previews has been released, titled: 'Some Days'. If you have a free moment, you can listen to it at the MySpace Page!
The Full Version will be available on my next Mixtape, 'The Intern'.
Also, I have started a FACEBOOK Fan Page, so if Facebook is now more of you're thing, feel free to join up!
G'day Come on down to the Tote on Sunday the 27th of September to celebrate the end of another Footy season. The back line will be ably defended by Gruntbucket. Coming off the bench to take their position on the wing are Dirty York. Winning the ball at all the stoppages will be the mighty mid field attack of The Get Go. They'll send the ball rocketing toward the fantastic forward line of Clinkerfield who are sure to kick a swag of goals. There'll be plenty of snags on the barbie to help with the hangover.
It was an amazing experience playing at The Palace, this was our favourite venue to play at on the Cradle Of Filth tour, purely for the rustic character and charm that it holds. Very very nice!
