PapaJazz... this french combo of hip-hop soul founded in 2003, is the result of the meeting between Jamal Finess, Knjazz, Polo and the groups Univerts and 2².The origin of their agreement under the PapaJazz entity comes from their common passion for what they commonly call "GOOD MUSIC". It is also a wink with the musical heritage of the close relations to their multiple influences herbie hancock, billie holliday, j-dilla (rip), madlib, pete rock, dj premier, native tongues, the ummah, the soulquarians, posse 501, time bomb....
Never miserly of originality and experiments, the various entities of this collective do not hesitate to make in diversity with perfumes old school, classic boom bap, jazzy smooth to see new age in their creative processes. Opened, fusional, hybrid, rich person, reflected, natural here of the adjectives which could define as well as possible the sound of the crew PapaJazz.
Although they are presented like a band of hiphopsouladdict intending to become a true movement, the members of PapaJazz do not claim to educate the rap fans. However they would like to bring back this form of musical expression in its original form, i.e. TO AFFIRM its adhesion with a spirit, to denounce the deviances of the leading classes but especially to encourage the spirit of initiative near the populations and marginalized individuals even excluded within the various companies, then especially, to adopt a "progressive and positive" step in their everyday life. PapaJazz wants to thus share its love of the music engaged with its public and this, without calculation nor restriction.
Value sure of rap freak, purified, far from the stereotypes of a rap "business and materialist"; the PapaJazz team is actually working on a compilation project which should be released later this year, a scientist mix of hip-hop, soul and spoken Word . That one is held it for known as, PapaJazz makes a point of marking the collective memory as a builder of durable beauties....
