    i have been recording & touring in various incarnations of The Paparazzi for the last 7 years. my heroes are the underdogs of pop like Harry Nilsson, Nick Lowe, Todd Rundgren, Lee Hazelwood, Brian Wilson, and all other musical geniuses who can get down with: happy accidents, soul power (very important), ESP, the lushness of it all (or when to just dig the essentials), and the depths of the psyche and/or 'off the top of your head' (which came first?). that said, it's been a natural transition to collaborate with filmmakers in writing music for films and i really like working with bands as a producer when i'm not doing Paparazzi stuff (check the blog for updates on some very exciting stuff down the pike on the film & producing tips and check the shows listings for live stuff). i currently have the honor of playing bass in CAT POWER & DIRTY DELTA BLUES during a really cool time in chan marshall's career. it's nice to be around so much soul. thanks for stopping by. drop me a line. erik paparazzi NYC 8.07 performing t. rex's 'dove' with tony visconti & Ragga in central park 9.29.07... .. .. .. .. .. solo show 8/26/07... .. .. .. .. .. erik with cat power at madison square garden... .. .. .. .. ..
