Paroxysm was formed in 2005 by Markus (drums) and Kurt (Vocals/Guitars) as a Noise/Grind band. In this time, Paroxysm’s aim was just to sound as noisy and bestial as possible, not even trying to involve ear catchy riffs or vocal lines and surrendering lyrics. .... After Martin “der Geschmeidige” followed the band as a bassist in October 2005, the first demo CD was recorded including nothing else than rude noise with a slightly funny attitude. .. In December of 2006 Martin announced to leave the band due to personal problems. Just a few days later, Paroxysm – now persisting of just two members again – started a tour through Germany together with prestigious underground grindcore bands like Jig Ai and Squash Bowels. .... At the beginning of 2007, Markus and Kurt started a jam session together with Leo, a grind freak they got to know at a local show. Realizing that he was able to play the guitar way better than Kurt, Paroxysm decided to gather Leo in the band. Because the sound of the band changed significantly, a new demo, called “Glatze, Schreie, Klinik”, was recorded some months later. The new songs were mixing up grindcore and punk riffs with brutal blastbeats, groovy goregrind parts and a portion of oldschool death metal, featuring childish humour. The band started to go in a direction of primitive, but catchy party grindcore, motivating to mosh and first and foremost to drink. .... After this demo and a lot of gigs in Germany, Paroxysm worked at new songs for the first album. During some days in the end of 2007, they recorded 13 songs with the professional help of Hannes R�ll, a good friend, who also mastered the piece of alcoholic grindcore, which was released by the label 666 Records under the name “...alles kann, nichts muss!!!” in April 2008. The CD cover already makes clear what its aim is: To provide the soundtrack for parties and for the consume of vast quantities of beer! .... After the release of “...alles kann, nichts muss!!!”, Paroxysm changed the musical direction again, including more musical influences in the new songs, such as thrash metal riffs and crust punk parts, but without completely dropping the old direction. The vocals mostly changed to high-pitched shrieks and nearly every new song deals with alcohol consume. .... In summer 2010, Peter completed the line-up of Paroxysm as a new bass player. .. Now, the band is looking forward to play a lot of shows and to record a new album to convince the grindcore and extreme metal scene of their extraordinary mixture of grindcore, thrash and death metal, punk and hardcore. ....
