The son of a North Louisiana Hillbilly and a South Louisiana Cajun, Patrick has been playing the guitar and singing in public since age 12. Starting in his hometown of Shreveport, LA (home of the Louisiana Hayride and Leadbelly) and then later in Baton Rouge (Blues and R & B), he has played music from the 60's rock explosion to Folk, Country, Blues and New Orleans style R & B. Patrick has written or co-written songs that are a mix (or Gumbo, "if you will") of Rock, Blues, Folk and Country (a genre later coined as Americana). A number of these songs were recorded in the '80's and sold at performances (with fellow performer Russell Bailey) in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. In 1988, Patrick moved from Baton Rouge to Santa Cruz, CA (where Old Hippies go to die), and after recovering from the culture shock started performing his Wise Ass Southern Style Music out West. He has performed at the Opening Night for the 2005 and 2006 Santa Cruz Film Festival at the Del Mar Theatre. Patrick can be found performing solo or onstage with a number of talented musicians including John Craigie (A Seasoned Touring Troubadour), Mark Gloster (in a duo known as Rubber Shark Gumbo), and Kevin Jenkins (Slide Guitarist Extraordinaire). Another sometime collaborator was the late Karen Stern. He has been on four annual tours with John Craigie, beginning with 17 shows in venues in Northern California, Oregon and Washington (we love you Seattle!) in 2006. Then in 2007 and 2008 he followed up with mini tours of California venues from Sebastopol and Stockton to San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara to Santa Cruz and Monterey in between. In 2009 he and Craigie finished a 10 city tour of Louisiana (back to the Homeland!) and Texas, which included shows in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Alexandria, Austin, and Dallas. A CD of his original music will be released in the near future. In the meantime, check out his music on this site and look for his schedule of performances! Hey Patrick...too bad I didn't hear about you until now, AFTER you've played here and gone; I'd have come to see you! Thanks for the friend request, and I would be thrilled to share a show someday.
