    Infiintata la Cluj, in anul 1977, formatia Compact a debutat pe scena Clubului Universitatii din localitate, in componenta Marius Luca (chitara, voce), Ladislau Balacs (tobe), Cornel Moldovan (chitara, voce), Constantin Camarasan (chitara), Teo Peter (chitara bass). Dupa ce componenta trupei a mai suferit unele schimbari, in 1981 sunt cooptati in formatie Paul Ciuci (chitara, voce) si Aurel Vasilescu (tobe), fosti membri ai grupului Telegraf din Turda. Este inceputul unui drum nou, in care trupa isi gaseste identitatea. Compozitiile lui Paul Ciuci ii cuceresc rapid pe iubitorii de rock romanesc, iar in 1985 apare primul album de mare succes, "Fata din vis". Au urmat albumele "Cantec Pentru Prieteni" (1988), "Pe tine te-am ales" (1997), "Compact" 100% (1998), "5.Compact" (2002), "In memoriam" (2005) si "Compact live" (2007). Desi a fost marcata de doua tragedii – moartea lui Teo Peter (2004) si Emil Laghia (2005), formatia si-a gasit puterea sa mearga mai departe si sa vina cu bucurie la toate intalnirile cu publicul sau, din tara sau strainatate.

Paul Ciuci

Paul Ciuci was born on July 12, 1956, in Campia Turzii (Cluj, Romania), and picked up the guitar at the age of 9, when his Mother gave him this first instrument as a gift. Paul learned to play by following guitar manuals alone. It has been worth all the hard work - Paul became one of the famous guitar players in Romania. In the early 70’s, Paul and his childhood friend Aurel Vasilescu – drummer, joined the Telegraf rock band, founded in Turda. The band had won numerous music awards throughout the years. In the late 70’s, Paul and Aurel were first noticed by Teo Peter and Costi Camarasan from other rock band – Compact Cluj, at a show named "Cantarea Romaniei". In '81 they met Paul and Aurel again, in Medias, at a festival, and asked them to join Compact. Paul Ciuci and Aurel Vasilescu agreed, so Compact began rehearsals with the new line-up. It was a new beginning: the band finds its musical identity. Compact became one of the most popular bands in Romania thanks to Paul (vocals/guitar), a very talented, melodic, skillful guitar player and composer. He also has a unique, warm sounding voice. Paul wrote lots of rock songs, most of them being very popular. His biggest influences are Journey, Boston and Van Halen. Paul’s first great success as a songwriter was “The girl of my dreams” (1983), a song which catapulted Compact nationally and leaded to numerous tours up and down the country. Paul and his band also went on many tours abroad – both in Europe and in the US, especially after the fall of communism in Romania. After the 90’s, Compact opened for some famous rock bands: Nazareth, Europe, Scorpions. It has to be mentioned that between 1991 and 1995 Paul left Compact and joined the Sfinx Experience band, one of the most important names in the Romanian music. Paul played with Sfinx Experience in the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium. In 1996 he returned to Compact. Today, after more than 30 years on stage, Paul is still much loved and appreciated. He and his band are playing to sold-out crowds.

Adrian "Coco" Tinca

Coco, as everyone calls him, began his musical career in 1984, when he formed the Experimental rock band in Brasov (Ro). Over the years, the group won numerous popularity awards. Coco joined Compact in 2005, after the death of Teo Peter, which was the bassist for the band. A sincere, very generous and hardworking man, Coco is not only a talented musician but also an appreciated businessman. In 1990, Coco founded the Coco Sound & Light company, a very well known name in the Romanian showbiz industry.

Aurel "Lelutz" Vasilescu

Lelutz joined Compact in ’81, along with his childhood friend Paul Ciuci. One of the most well-known drummers in the country, Lelutz is keeping the tempos and always keeps the smile on his face. He has an incredible sense of humor so everyone around him is happy and cheerful.

Adrian Kiseleff

Adrian Kiseleff is the keyboard player and the youngest member of Compact band. He graduated “George Enescu” Music Highschool and the “Ciprian Porumbescu” Conservatory. Adrian joined the band in November 2009. Before that, he worked on some solo projects.
