Here is a poem...
"2,600 SOULS" - This is the original song as it appeared on The Huffington Post on September 11, 2006. By the time I recorded the song for my record it was
"3,800 SOULS". It is now well over 4,000 with no end in site.

A friend had an idea that I thought might be very effective. We live in SC, a state where it does no good to write to our Congressmen (in our experience, they ignore anything from Democrats--they do not represent us since we did not vote for them). But if all of the people who live in states like this were to write to Harry Reid, and tell him that if he does the right thing and puts the Public Option into the Health Care Reform Bill, we will contribute $50 (or $25 or whatever we can afford) to his campaign.....and if he doesn't, we will contribute to his competitor's campaign (the point being, if he's going to act like a Republican what's the difference?). There must be close to a million Progressive Democrats in Red States with no one to write to and support on the Public Option, Harry Reid will listen to 50 or even 25 million dollars. What do you think? Please pass this on if you like the idea :) Also we want to get rid of the anti-trust exemption on insurance companies!

Paul, thanks so much for the add. You put it into "perfect perspective" long ago. When I heard Sub-Iraqian Blues, I couldn't believe how you put the whole thing into perspective for ALL OF US. I'm subscribing to the blog, and I'll be seeing the MOVIE, as well. You made me laugh at the goofs when I had been experiencing "nightmares" for 6 long years over those criminals. THANK YOU!!!!
