“When it comes to voices, they don't come much more powerful than our old friend, Paul Sachs. He'd blow people away on a regular basis down at the old Fast Folk Cafe and he's still doing it.”Acoustic Live Magazine
"If the Greenwich Village folk scene ever kicks back into high gear as in the 60s, well all be better served if Paul Sachs joins in and shares his tales with us. This is my request that he do just that."
Derek Blackmon - Indie-Music.com
Paul Sachs was born and raised on the Lower East Side of New York City. He discovered such artists as Harry Chapin, Springsteen, and of course Bob Dylan, which pushed him into the folk music circles of the city. His songs soon caught the attention of other area performers, and he was featured in Fast Folk Musical Magazine. One of his songs was eventually selected for inclusion in the Smithsonian Fast Folk collection. Sachs still lives on the Lower East Side, performing in various venues around the city. He has recorded two independent albums, both featuring often raw and seeringly personal songs of life and love on the mean streets. His fingerstyle guitar work and powerful voice combine to create mesmerizing vignettes of the city that has been the backdrop of his life.
His new CD, The Refuge, contains 12 original new songs. Mixed at Dubway Studios in NYC.

Joe Forte AKA Jojo Americano states....."His metaphors are so organically built, so subtly derived from the mis-en-
scene of the song as to catch the listener unawares. One finds while
distracted by the simple pleasures of a finger picked acoustic guitar and
Paul's unshaven unapologetic vocal that the vast and crucial beauty of the
song has crept in the back door. It is at its most emotional a buoyant
affirmation of the joy and sorrow bled from a life well lived....."
Hi Paul, thanks for introducing your excellent songs. I like the sound of your powerful voice very much. The song Henry reminds me of the best of the 60's folk singers like Eric Andersen and such. Wonderful tune! All best wishes and much more success in the future. LB
Hey thanks for adding me...I am going to be playing right after you on June 7 at the Scratcher sessions, look forward to meeting you, peace Josh Sanders

Thank you so much for introducing me to your circle of friends.
I find your music to be enchantingly beautiful, transfixing, fresh and original, something that I know will keep on drawing me back again and again. I can't thank you enough for seeking me out to share such joyous treasures, except to add bravo!!!
Indeed, you have a great voice Paul, and you use it to nuanced and subtle perfection in dealing out your awesome tunes.
Wishing you happiness and tranquility in all things.
Hey, Paul, I like your voice, too! It was great meeting you the other night, put a gracious human/artist touch to the end of a night of schmoozing. Peace, Cincha
Hi Paul!! So great to hear from you. Hope your holiday was great and that you have a lovely New Year. Hopefully this will be the one I actually make it to NYC.
It's been too long since I've heard you play... here's hoping I can make it to more shows in 2008. Gabriel is almost a year old and the best child anyone could wish for. Sheri says hi too, she'll get out to see you one day, we promise!
A Happy Christmas to you too. Sorry, been out of touch. Let's try and do something about that. I don't get into the big town too much these days, but if I do, we should have a cup o' coffee and shoot the breeze a bit. Hope you're taking care of those jumbo vocal chords of yours. They must eat you out of house and home!
