Bruno C. and Yan B. started playing music together in Ottawa in 2001 and are now based in Montreal.
In 2005, they joined forces with three other recording artists to form the Montreal-based independent label AKACHIC RECORDS. The label released Pax Nipponica's debut six-song EP, NOT TONIGHT, in 2006. They've been procrastinating ever since.

The lab.synthèse series, a precursor to the lab.synthèse collective and creative space, ran from June to November 2007, showcasing electronic or experimental music from local musicians as well as artists from outside the city.
