"The mix included an electric folk-rock-meets-country tune that could have been mistaken for Fairport Convention taking a run at Rush."

That's PEAR! Being labelled as "the most accomplished band you've never heard of" PEAR is taking the crossover market by storm with their infectious blends of alternative, pop and country music.
When Lynae and Denis Dufresne came off the road after fronting one of the most successful fiddle acts in history, they welcomed a baby into their home and decided on a domestic life in Calgary. Well now... they've become a bit antsy... Together, this group of 5 musicians have performed all over the world: including Europe, Scandanavia, France, Germany, China and throughout North America. With Lynae as the songstress and Denis as the musical backbone, the two have joined together to become alternative country group PEAR: a sweet yet gritty new band that is juicier than most of the other apples out there in country music. As the core of PEAR the two are both celebrated and accomplished musicians on the country, folk and world music scenes and individually have backed up some of the biggest names in these styles of music.
PEAR weaves a signature sound that is clever and assured.
Hey there, just wanted to thank you for supporting Haymaker. I see your guys are opening up for some pretty great acts. thats awesome! Saw Jason here in the Hat on Canada Day with Doc Walker and Mahoney. So are you guys from the Hat as well?
My favorite fiddlers! What's new? Looks like I may be headed to Mexico for a recurring gig. Perform at night and scuba dive until my heart's content during the day!
p.s. what's with the shouting comments?... you should really watch that aggression, denis. tone it down, take it easy... sheesh. hey, any chance you folks will be at rockygrass? go look at the lineup! (and the price!)
no excuses, denis! just kidding... allow me to give you your first taste! http://youtube. com/watch?v=qlBZx4YXijs hope you two are doing fabulously :) p.s. hadn't heard bruises and change before... i love it!!
hey, d&l, just was thinking about you two and wanted to say hello! how are things? i can't wait to hear this upcoming album i just read about, sounds like you're getting healthy doses of adventure, music, travel, excitement, and hopefully a little sleep every now and then! :) p.s. have you heard thile's new "punch brothers" album? what do you think???
hi denis/lynae!! wow- the new stuff sounds fantastic! where and when can i buy your cd??? i see you know kimber? (i've not yet met her but we're both headed to a house camp in BC hosted by emma beaton at the end of this month) i bet you probably know emma, too... i love this small world :) anyhow i hope you're doing well, keep up the great music! xo cori
No, it was fun hanging out with YOU guys last week! Your original songs sound incredible. I'm excited to see what life has in store for you two. Just don't get too busy to teach next year! That would be unfortunate...
Thank you for adding me. Nice to discover your profile here. I remember you from Barrage and I like this very much as well. I hope you're doing fine. Take care!
