Bio
Pierre de Gaillande is a musician-songwriter-composer born in Paris, France, raised in California, and living in Brooklyn. .. .. Pierre is now involved in a new book and recording project called BAD REPUTATION, translating the songs of Georges Brassens into English. The debut album was released on Barbes Records on June 8th, and features guest vocals by Keren Ann. (www.pierredegaillande.com/brassens).. He plays in these New York bands:.. THE SNOW (myspace.com/thesnowmusic).. MELOMANE (www.melomane.org) .. Pierre is also a composer for film and TV. He scored the feature documentary "Dr. Bronner's Magic Soapbox", about the legendary soap-maker and spiritual visionary, directed by Sara Lamm (www.magicsoapbox.com). Pierre also scored "The Perfect Dress," directed by Rose Viggiano and staring Alicia Goranson, as well as the documentary "Danielseon, A Family Movie" about the indie-psychedelic-Christian-folk band the Danielson Famile, directed by Sonny Aronson (www.danielsonmovie.com). .. .. The Snow's new album I DIE EVERY NIGHT is available on cdbaby, iTunes, Rhapsody, and Vermillion Music (www.melomane.org/vermillion)... Melomane recorded a song in French with singer/songwriter Eleni Mandell, available on cdbaby and Vermillion Music, on Melomane's 6-song disaster-themed EP, LOOKOUT!, recorded in the South of France... Pierre also recorded a song with Eleni Mandell for Canadian label Bonsound. (www.bonsound.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_music_info&cPath=3&products_id=124) .. See the video from Pierre's stint as John Entwhistle in a re-creation of the Who's performance of My Generation at the museum of contemporary art in Lyon, France, with artist Christoph Draeger, and members Morex Optimo. It recently aired at MOMA's Documentary Fortnight. (http://www.christophdraeger.com/categories/data/categories/00_New%20Works/My%20Generation/).. If you are still reading this, you might like to know that Pierre once backed Vic Chesnutt on guitar, trumpet, and keyboards for some shows in New York. .. He also used to play bass in a great New York three-piece power-punk trio called Morning Glories, and had a short stint playing trumpet in the San Diego band Creedle. He was a bad trumpet player but they were an amazing band and he wants the world to know it. See their myspace page here: www.myspace.com/creedlepiecompany .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -
