With a sound comprised of melodic repetition, progressive builds, schizophrenic transitions and the occasional crushing wall of noise - Peña is constantly evolving. Choosing to pass on standard song structures, the music becomes an extension of thoughts, emotion, and surroundings. Created as a representation of environment and the life around us, the music tells stories of epic proportions. Complex and dark one moment, upbeat and bright the next.
"Logophobia -- the fear of words -- has taken on all kinds of meanings beyond those of mere pathology: Michel Foucault defined it as angst caused by the capricious nature of language, while Peter Farb considered it an aversion to abstraction itself. And although Denver's Peña avoids lyrics like the plague, the group's spacious majesty is far from timid. While hordes of instrumental math-rock bands before it have trafficked in anxiety and tension, Peña conveys a sense of wonder and triumph..." - Westword

Thank you, that means a lot to me as I have always loved your music! We both love your CD very much as well -- will be playing Denver on June 18. Hope to see you in Co Springs again soon!
You guys were awesome the other night. We listened to your disc all the way home. Seriously fantastic. We are going to look at some dates and try to setup the three day road trip this summer. That would be a good time. Thanks again for inviting us to play last night.
Yeah, I do need to come out of retirement. Looking forward to hearing the new songs. Unfortunately, I've got plans on the 18th, but I'll try to make it out to a show as soon as I can.
