Influences
The fact that underneath all our civilized, pre-occupied, greedy domesticated exteriors, we've still got the bodies, minds and needs of nomadic gatherer-hunters. That wildness will crush concrete, that the earth will wither concrete and steel, that carrying capacity exists, that this will end in our lifetimes.
Wildness. Birds of Prey. Resistance to civilization.
Anarcho-primitivism. John Zerzan. Lewis Mumford. James Woodburn. Paul Shepard. Fredy Perlman. Richard B. Lee. R. Brian Ferguson. Laura Rival. John Moore. John Connor. Nurit Bird-David. Hugh Brody. John Bodley. William Catton.

The Agrarian Curse. FC Records, 2008.
Green Scare Benefit split CD w/ Auryn. FC Records, 2009.
The twilight of the machines. Blackened death-core. Whatever you want to call it. Rage amplified.
"What would it sound like if you crossed Napalm Death and Behemoth, but also threw in some His Hero Is Gone? A more Hardcore - Black Metal. Wait......... a more Grind - Death Metal. Nah you just get Pennsylvania's Peregrine."

Black and green metal from the Allegheny-Monogahela bioregion of Pennsylvania.
Anti-racist, anti-homophobic, anti-nationalist, anti-sexist, and anti-civilization. Pro-wildness, pro-collapse.
IF YOU ARE RACIST, HOMOPHOBIC, CHRISTIAN, MISOGYNIST, STATIST DOUCHE BAG AND/OR BAND, DO NOT CONTACT US, DO NOT FRIEND REQUEST US, AND DEFINITELY DO NOT ASK US TO HELP YOU WITH SHOWS. JUST FUCK OFF.
Peregrine is an anarcho-primitivist/savagist death metal band based out of southwestern PA. It was started at the end of 2006 by KT in Athens, GA as a release for overt anger against the world that domestication and civilization have created. Fueled by a love of wildness and solidarity with the lives of those directly confronted by the cannibalistic cycles of necessary growth of civilization. The purpose has been simple; spreading the directed hatred of civilization as a critique rather than a collection of misanthropic notions and undermining the domesticating process that is constantly reinforced in our lives.
The music is the result of a sense of urgency and rage combined through the most appropriate forms: blackened death metal infused with elements of hardcore and crust.
As of November 2008, KT moved back up to Pennsylvania and has re-established the band there with Jordan Villella on drums (Mammoth Bath, ex-Zimmerman's Note, ex-Circle of Dead Children) and Steve Kirk on guitar. The change up has brought in vigorous new blood and an entirely anarchist line up. We're currently pulling things back together and look to start playing shows rigorously in June and working on having a new CD written by the end of the summer. Check back for more info on that.
We hate writing bios, hate civilization, love wildness, and stip the fuck out of whatever we can.
Want us to play your town? Bring that shit.
The word 'Peregrine' means wanderer, which, given our history/future as nomadic gatherer-hunter bands, is fitting enough. Bu the name comes after the Peregrine falcon. The fastest bird in the world, swooping at speeds over 200 miles per hour, is also one of the most widespread birds in the world. It inhabits every continent except Antarctica. And it was almost completely wiped out by DDT. Powerful. Amazing. Resilient. WILD.

We're ready to start setting up some dates for weekend tours and the like. Want to trade shows, have us play your town? Drop us a line.
Contact us here or email: feraledge [at] gmail [dot] com.
We're excited to say that we're doing a late January tour with our friends Seidr from Louisville through the Mid-West. Look for dates on that. Seidr play crushing Pagan doom with more emotion than you are able to take in. We like these guys a lot and so will you.
We're looking now to set up a few other tours for this fall including the Rust Belt and mid-West, possibly the pure south this winter and West Coast and Europe in spring/summer 2010.
UPCOMING RECORDS (early 2010): - split EP with Gothenburg death crusters, Seeds in Barren Fields on Crimethinc CZ
- split LP with black metal monsters, Panopticon on Communitas Records
We've recorded three times now (demo, album and split LP tracks) with Joel Hatstat at the Bakery in Athens, GA. Our debut CD, 'The Agrarian Curse', was released in the late spring of 2008 by F.C. Records. It is available below.
Check the 'Agrarian Curse' blog for more info on that.
The lyrics are posted up in the blog as well, we put them up there for a reason, so READ THEM.
We've also recorded three tracks for our split with fellow anarcho-crusters, Auryn, from Pittsburgh. That is a Green Scare benefit CD and is OUT NOW on FC Records.
For those who are unfamiliar, the Green Scare is a term applied to a wide ranging 'snatch and grab' attempt by the FBI to snag anyone who may be associated with or know folks involved primarily with a string of arsons and animal liberations that took place at the turn of the century by the Earth Liberation Front and Animal Liberation Front. It's been going on for years now and has led to countless subpoenas, harassment, a number of snitches and infiltrators, as well as convictions and generally lengthy prison sentences for ELF/ALF members.
The Green Scare benefit money goes to lawyers, legal counsel, and to those who have been or are fighting convictions for their actions and/or beliefs in the struggle for earth and animal liberation. This is something we hold dearly. Read up on it, get involved, and help us get this album out to help raise some change up!
We start working on new songs now, so there will be more coming from us. Be sure of it. Any anarcho-, eco-, metal/crust/hardcore bands looking to do splits or benefit comps (preferably Green Scare/SHAC/indigenous support), write us through here or KT at feraledge [at] gmail [dot] com.
If you think the gatherer-hunter lifestyle was lost solely because it couldn't last or because a sedentary, agrarian, or civilized life was more appealing: think again.
