Perhaps one of the most interesting musical pairings to come out of the northeast’s thriving music scene in recent memory, Pete Francis of indie phenom Dispatch and rising roots-rock upstarts Barefoot Truth have joined forces for a collaborative EP entitled Wake the Mountain. The 5 song EP features both acts performing as one collective band, redoing both Pete Francis and Barefoot Truth originals and taking a shot at their own version of Bob Dylan’s “Quinn the Eskimo”. Longtime friend and Dispatch producer Jack Gauthier produced Wake the Mountain in a few short days at his Lakewest Recording Studio, with most of the tracking done in one take. Pete Francis & Barefoot Truth will tour together in the Spring and to festivals in the Summer. Expect a long set full of material from both of their respective catalogs.

Known for his sincere songwriting and evocative lyrics, the former singer/songwriter of the indie sensation Dispatch is continuing to make waves, this time as a solo artist. Featuring a coolly laid back and sometimes philosophical musical style, Francis’ work is timeless.
Dispatch fans and new fans alike have a dynamic energy for Pete Francis. Iron Sea and the Cavalry, released on his own Scrapper Records through Red Eye Distribution, contains ten classic Pete Francis tracks. Iron Sea is a body of work that represents renewal, hope, and courage while tapping into the wanderlust of the human spirit. Francis rips through folk, jam, rock, pop and reggae cuts, while still maintaining his own instantly recognizable sound throughout.
Press play on any of the tracks from his five albums and you’ll hear beautifully orchestrated instrumentation layered with illustrative and revealing lyrics. Francis continues to create new and different styles to reinvent his craft. You never quite know what the next song will sound like.
For his Spring 09 tour, Francis will join forces with young roots rockers Barefoot Truth. This run will see the bands playing as one combined act, showcasing tunes from both the Pete Francis and Barefoot Truth catalogs. In between these dates, Francis will also be performing select solo shows. He is currently working on new material for his next album. Stay tuned!
