Peter Vronsky was born in Toronto, Canada, and has been shooting and producing investigative documentaries and independent films since 1976. He has worked extensively in Europe, the former Soviet Union, Middle-East, South Africa and in Canada and USA. His documentary subjects have ranged from the early coverage of the punk rock scene in New York's CBGB and the Sex Pistols US tour in 1977 to nuclear weapons smuggling in the break-away republic of Chechnya in the 1990s.
Vronsky is also the creator of a body of formal video art works exhibited internationally, a cited historian of Lee Harvey Oswald's journey to the USSR in 1959-1962, and the author of the true crime-history bestseller: Serial Killers: The Method and Madness of Monsters (2004), a definitive history of serial homicide from the Roman Empire to the Washington Beltway.
The sequel, Female Serial Killers: How and Why Women Become Monsters, was recently published by Penguin-Berkley Books in 2007.
Vronsky is currently a Ph.D. candidate in history at the University of Toronto in the fields of criminal justice history and history of espionage. He is writing his dissertation on the 1866 Fenian raids into Canada which will be published by Penguin Books Canada as 1866 Ridgeway: The Fenian Terror and the Battle That Made Canada. He currently lectures in the History of the Third Reich, Civil War, Espionage and International Relations at Ryerson University in Toronto.
He lives in Toronto Canada and Venice Italy.
