Pharoah Roche hail from London. The city is a true melting pot and hence the boys have a broad appreciation of music of all styles. This production outfit have had a handful of limited releases on the independent Toothless Records label. These have found their way onto BBC Radio 1 courtesy of John Peel and Zane Lowe. Kiss 100 FM have also aired material thanks to Justin Wilkes. Clubland has seen dancefloor action from the Roche courtesy of DJ Hell, Jazzanova, Erol Alkan, Seiji and Fil OK (NagNagNag). Further support has come from Alex Attias, Rob Da Bank, Thaddeus Hermann and Pete Namlook. Reviews have featured in iDJ, One Week To Live and Grand Slam magazine.
Jazzanova have signed tracks from the duo to their highly respected Sonar Kollektiv imprint in Berlin. You will also find that Jazz & Milk in Munich have licensed material from the outfit. A Pharoah Roche remix of Fran - "Violent Silence" was released on B9 Records.
Not shy to hop around the genres, a Pharoah Roche release can vary in style from funk induced breaks to punk electro to latin drenched broken beats to laid back deep house or even a bit of blissful melodic balearic ambience. ..
Last, but certainly not least, check out our fellow Toothless Records brother, The Unknown Stuntman (see our 'friends' list). Much respect! All tracks on his and our MySpace's are radio plays or edits. Full versions of Pharoah Roche and The Unknown Stuntman releases can be found in all good record stores.
