About JM

Born in Virginia and was raised in Philly being the youngest with no sisters. I was brought up in my father's church, out in west side. Where I've grown to let the Lord use me in music. I was the Praise & Worship leader, Choir Director and drummer in church. It seems everyone in my family is musically inclined. So you know I was bound to pick up a few gifts. My mother would sing around the house and often in church. My aunts, uncles and I would just love it. Being a child of senior pastor, "PK", wasn't the easiest thing. I was expected to act and be a certain way. To be honest, I was at a point in life where I wanted everyone to see JM as JM, not the "PK". After a while, I found myself neglecting God and doing my own thing. The Lord had his way, eventually he got my attention. I had to go through some things to appreciate the good. I will never forget the day it could of been the end of me. When I driving to work, early one morning in the rain, my car spun out of control on the highway right into the divider facing traffic. As I got out the car I began to debate where should I stand to wait for help. It was dark and wanted to be in a safe area. The Lord was surely with me. When I walked to the opposite spot to where I was going to stand but something said No, Don't! The next thing I knew, a car is flipping passed my car where I would've been. I was so shook up and I began praising the Lord all month singing to his glory. Slowly I began to go back to my old ways doing what I wanted to do, hanging with the wrong crowds. I knew I was wrong, but did it anyway. Eventually I was so tired of doing what I was doing, dealn' with so much drama I had to turn away. I needed a new environment to start fresh so I joined the military and God knows I enjoy it so much. I became closer to him and I just want to live for him. The things that I put him through, I owe him my life and I have the desire of mentoring and encourage through my music reaching out to others letting them know, regardless of what you did, there is still hope. That's why I'm so grateful.
