This Thursday Night will have a large bearing on how many concerts Mosaic continues to provide. We are hosting by far, our biggest band, Stars Go Dim. Stars Go Dim features 3 former members, (almost the entire band) of Pillar. Pillar a very popular Rock Band with Christian roots has played in venues and before hundreds of thousands. While this hard driving rock band was the catalyst of Stars Go Dim, many will be surprised at the incredible technical quality of this new band.
Stars Go Dim provides more of a rhythmic rock and blues closer to a Derrick Trucks or Marshal Tucker Band than that of a hard driving band such as Pillar. The quality of their debut ep is phenomenal and many of the songs can be heard at the bands myspace page located at www.myspace.com/starsgodim
One of the unique attributes of the show in Wichita on Thursday nigh, April 23 is that the venue will only seat 115 max. For a group of guys used to playing before thousands, and for the fans who love them, this unique opportunity will be something that won’t soon be forgotten. While the $10 admission for this concert is a little more than what Mosaic usually charges for its concerts, there could easily be hundreds if not thousands in the Wichita area who would be exited about this opportunity, an opportunity to see a band of this caliber in a room not much larger than some people’s living room. In fact, there will be many that will be so close to the band, you would think they were on the stage.
Opening up for Stars Go Dim will be the up and coming local band, Lost Colors formerly known as Mile Marker 128 can be heard at their myspacepage, www.myspace.com/thelostcolors This group of talented musicians is sure to please the crowd with their lively pop rock sound. Between Lost Colors and Stars Go Dim one can fully expect a very entertaining couple of hours worth of music in a close, intimate environment. It will be a concert that many will be talking about for a very long time.
A cowboy walks into a bar and two steps in he realizes it's a gay bar.
"What the heck," he says to himself,"I really want a drink. " When the gay waiter approaches, he says to the cowboy,"What's the name of your willy?" The cowboy says, "Look, I'm not into any of that.
All I want is a drink. " The gay waiter says, "I'm sorry but I can't serve you until you tell me the name of your willy. Mine for instance is called NIKE, for the slogan 'Just Do It. ' That guy down at the end of the bar calls his SNICKERS, because 'It really Satisfies. " The cowboy looks dumbfounded, so the bartender tells him he will give him a second to think it over.
So the cowboy asks the man sitting to his left who is sipping on a beer, "Hey bud, what's the name of yours?" The man looks back and says with a smile, "TIMEX. " The thirsty cowboy asks, "Why Timex?" The fella proudly replies, " 'Cause it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin!'"
A little shaken, the cowboy turns to two fella's on his right, who happen to be sharing a fruity Margarita and says, "So, what do you guys call yours?" The first man turns to him and proudly exclaims, FORD, because "'Quality is Job One" Then he adds, "Have you driven a Ford lately?" The guy next to him then says, "I call mine CHEVY.....'Like a Rock!' And gives a wink!
Even more shaken, the Cowboy has to think for a moment before he comes up with a name for his manhood.
Finally, he turns to the bartender and exclaims, "The name of my willy is SECRET. Now give me a beer. "
The bartender begins to pour the cowboy a beer, but with a puzzled look asks, "Why Secret?" The cowboy says, "Because it's 'STRONG ENOUGH FOR A MAN, BUT MADE FOR A WOMAN!!!!
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
