INfluences are everything from two man gentleman band to john butler trio, aswell as bands such as; south austin jug band, stiff dead cats, boulder acoustic society, earl scruggs, and anyone and everyone that enjoys music and plays, its the simple inspiritaion of a good time!

PIP & PHIL'S MAGICAL PENNY are a group of musicians local to the peterborough, kettering, northampton area. This trio combines the sounds from jazz, folk, and a rare sound that has been origianlly developed from there own minds. their sets consist of there own songs, and nothing else. they are 100 percent original.(minus a little britney spears cover)
All of them at the moment are studying music at peterborough regional college. and they are advancing in there music all the time.
Pip saunders, Phil Simmonds and Matt (penny) Penman have been jamming and writing there own material for many years even though they never took it into there own hands and try and get gigs, sell songs, and take themselves seriously.
it was only when PIP & PHIL started to record material at home, and after working with PENNY and other friends in the group "THE KPKP" that they realised this crazy breed of intense folk, jazz, and crazy comedy had a chance with a audience.
The boys have played Live on hightrees fm, and have had songs from there NEW EP that is being realised on Drip Dry records played on BBC RADIO CAMBS, as well as playing on BBC springwatch festival, and venues such as Watercress, The glass onion, The plot, The brewery Tap, Spirit and Soul and MANY more as well as up and coming gigs... at The boathouse in cambridge, The queen Charlotte in norwich.
