PitchBlack - a band designed to dislike! Formed in late 2002 by guitarist Trold, drummer and back vocalist Schou and now ex-guitarist Staff. Early 2003 Dag and DanIhjel joined the band. Staff was later on replaced by Pede who also is the owner of Earplug Studio that we have used fore several recordings.
We started out with great succes. Our first gig in 2003 was at a Danish death metal contest where we won the prices as "best performers", "Best guitarist" and the audience votes for "best band". Since then we have played lots of gigs with Illdisposed, Gorefest, Soil, Mercenary, Sinister, Monostrosity, Vital Remains and Whelm, just to mention a few.
In 2003 we made our first demo: "No Sympathy Left" which was recieved very well by the press. In 2004 the follower "PitchBlack promo 2004" was made, but the output was never really that satisfying.
In november 2005 we started to record a full lenght album "Designed to Dislike". We went to the Stonelab Studio with Steen Mogensen (Royal Hunt, Cornerstone) and used a lot of time to get the product right. The album was mastered by Andy Horn and Hank Sherman (Mercyful Fate, Force of evil) made the booklet with art director Wanner. The album was released summer 2007 through the German label LA RECORDS.
The world wide distribution deal with LA RECORDS was signed in December 2006. (See below where YOU can buy it).
In late August and in September we were supposed to go on a European tour with Dismember (s), Necrophobic (s), Debauchery (d) and Illnath (dk), but unfortunately the whole tour got cancelled 3 days before take off.
17. november 2007: DEBUT OF THE YEAR winners at Danish Metal Awards!!! Infront of a huge crowd we recieved the price for best debut album for "Designed to dislike"!
March 2008: After an agreement Trold and PitchBlack ends the cooperations. PitchBlack begins sessions with new guitarists
April 2008: Kristian 'Krist' Møller is welcomed with open arms in PitchBlack after a few rehearsals. a charity-concert for kids in need is arranged in Germany may 30.
May 2008: Krist gets his baptism in Germany, when PitchBlack hits the road and leaves Denmark to play a concert with Davidian from Germany
September: PitchBlack record four new tracks in guitaris Pedes studio 'Earplug Studio'.
