Tuesday March 11, 2008 - Planeside releases ‘Under the Circumstances, It’s Not Such a Bad Idea,’ the anticipated follow up to their 2006 release ‘MILK’. ‘Under the Circumstances…’ is a fine collection of 6 songs that you’ll be singing along to with all of your little hearts.
Produced, recorded and mixed by Jonathan Wyman, the new EP is a showcase for the band’s continuing effort at honing and developing their craft. The songs are tighter and the hooks are stronger than they’ve ever been. “We wanted to get in the studio and just have fun exploring the space,” says singer/guitarist Dave Harris. “We let the songs dictate everything.” This approach welcomed all kinds of instrumentation - even a guest vocal appearance by Rustic Overtones frontman, Dave Gutter.
Although ‘Under the Circumstances…’ is only available exclusively at all Bullmoose Music locations, you can still order a copy online at cdbaby.com and bullmoosrecords.com. Of course the band will also be selling copies of the new EP at all shows. A limited number of copies purchased at shows will include handwritten lyrics signed by the band. The songs are available digitally at iTunes as well.
From Tuesday March 11th, until Friday March 14th, “Under the Circumstances, It’s Not Such a Bad Idea” will be streaming in its entirety at myspace.com/planeside. As an added incentive, ‘Stars’, the first single to debut on Portland’s WCYY, will be downloadable for FREE during this 24 hour period only!
PLANESIDE has posted a slew of tour dates in support of the new EP.

BIO:
Planeside may very well be the most infamous band you've never really heard. YES, it's true…The band members, Dave Harris (throat), Kenzaburo Hirasaki (boom) and Craig Sala (skins), are no strangers to hard work and foul play. Self professed to be fueled by caffeine, cigarettes and good scotch, this is a band dedicated to putting themselves out on a limb and turning it up louder…even if it costs a night in the slammer. The relentless east coast trio has been sweating it out for the band's entire 60-month existence, continuing to do what they do best – deliver a devastatingly high-octane live assault, night after night to any conceivable venue that will book them. Over the past few years alone, Planeside has played every shit hole this side of the Mississippi (and the other side too), swapping spit with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, The Strokes, Death From Above 1979, Helmet and The Used.
The essential formula -- a manic combustion of good old American rock n' roll and an underlying hip hugging groove, played with punk ferocity that will leave the hair standing on the back of your ass! The band's raw sound is turbulent yet sleek, and seems to reflect every aspect of Americana they've collided with amidst their journeys…even if they can't remember them.
Under the Exotic Recordings and Surreal Records imprints, Planeside has cataloged a three-song demo, a 7" split-single, a self-titled EP, 2 full length albums and will soon give sonic birth to a 6-song EP recorded with Jonathan Wyman. Keep your eyes, ears and mouth open, as Planeside hits the road in 2008.
