Plouen Catximbes neix al 2002. Al 2003 treu l'EP 'Es veu pluja des de dins', al 2006 edita el seu primer llarga durada titulat com el grup, 'Plouen Catximbes'. Al 2008 tornen amb "Telescopi" , on abandonen el reggae com a referència i se situen molt més a prop del pop i del rock... un disc ampli de mires. Durant aquest temps la banda actua en diferents festivals com el Popkomm de Berlin, el SXSW de Austin (Texas), el Senglar Rock, el Mercat de Música Viva de Vic, , la sala 1 del Razzmatazz, l'Altaveu de Sant Boi, Barraques de Girona, l'Acampada Jove, l'Auditori de Bcn,la Pedrerael, el Fino's Reggae Festival ... Aquest 2009 continuen amb la gira que presenta el disc "Telescopi".
Plouen Catximbes, from Manresa, was formed in 2002. They released their first EP “Es veu pluja des de dins” in 2003. Early in 2006, the band edited they first album with the label “Propaganda pel Fet!”. The album, named “Plouen Catximbes”, like the band, is a mix of sounds coming from the reggae and going to the power-pop. During almost two years they have been playing on the most important stages like Popkomm of Berlin, SXSW of Austin (Texas), Senglar Rock, Mercat de Música Viva de Vic, Razzmatazz, Auditori de Barcelona, Fino’s Reggae Festival, etc…With the album “Plouen Catximbes”, the band was awarded with the Altaveu Frontera..s prize and the Enderrock Prize, for popular vote in the category of The Best Revelation Band.
On March of 2008, the band edited their second album, “Telescopi” (Propaganda Pel Fet!). This album has been the end of reggae sound for the band. The band made a retrospective journey from the deepest roots of themselves to the pure sound of the “indie-rock” of the 90’s. “Telescopi” is the album that situates Plouen Catximbes as one of the best bands singing in catalan at the moment. The sound is more pure, clear and romantic. The instruments take all the power from the musicians and the voice creates new sounds and textures that can be really compared with top international bands. Nowadays Plouen Catximbes becomes one of the most important bands in the indie-rock scene singing in catalan.
