Hello.
Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Podunk Nowhere, husband and wife duo based out of San Diego. We’ve been making music together for four years now, and recently released our self-titled debut CD (link to this on the left *wink*).................
We like to make these kind of introductions short and sweet, because most of you are probably sneaking in a little myspace time at work and the less you have to read the better it cuts down your risk of being busted by the boss. But if you’ve got the time on your hands and you’re enticed to read on even further, we’ve put our full length bio on our blog above..................
Another thing you should know about us, is, well…we’re humble folks who hate to brag about ourselves. That’s why you’ll never see us post huge HTML’s on your comment board that advertise our shows or plea for you to come and check out our awesome music. We like the idea of being discovered without the pesty persuasion…and hopefully that’s just how you found us.......................
That being said, instead of tooting our own horns, here are a few things that have been said about us by some of the respected music critics in San Diego:................
“Heather Janiga and guitar wielding hubby Johnny J. are a formidable songwriting duo. Her airy voice has an indie vibe, at times hinting at a folky Portishead or P.J. Harvey. Their country songs' sweet vocal arrangements are akin to Lucinda Williams and Wilco.” -Derek E. Shaw of the San Diego Troubadour...................
“Since their fateful meeting years ago, the pair has become one of San Diego's most popular acts on the singer-songwriter circuit.” - Bart Mendoza of the Peninsula Beacon.......................
“Podunk Nowhere has such a wonderful sound you could easily, as a critic once wrote of Billie Holiday, listen to them perform the telephone directory.” – Jim Trageser of the North County Times.....................
There ya have it…a little taste. Hope it’s enough to keep you listening, and hope that’s enough to keep you coming back for more. That’s about all we could ever hope for......................
Thanks for stopping by…and thanks for reading down to the bottom line.
