Born in Trenton, Michigan, Matt Prainito moved to Southern California at the young age of 2 with his parents, and twin brother Joe. Early on, Matt and his brother began writing music and performing together at church events and talent shows. Throughout high school the passion of music and desire to lead Gods’ people closer to Him was a constant drive in leading their lives.

In 1995, Matt and his brother Joe joined forces together in the Christian Alternative Rock band named Fish Tribe. Playing many venues, the band separated after 2 years to pursue other musical avenues. While his brother Joe moved to Nashville and was signed with Freedom records, Matt pursued his acoustic passion in the band titled 3N1. During which time Prainito found that the passion of writing music is not that of playing in front of crowds, or on large stages with lights and smoke, but the joy of leading worship and ushering in Gods’ presence.

In 2002, Matt and his brother Joe joined up again to play in a band called Pullstring. It was an acoustic project with a simple funk and rock mix. Pullstring performed at many different events, but the turning point was when he was leading worship at “Teen Challenge” in Riverside, California. Matt realized that the calling on his life was not to perform, but to write and lead worship. “To watch, hear, and know that you’re leading Gods’ children in worship while you usher in His presence, there is no other feeling like it. I knew I was doing what God wanted me to do.”

Currently, Matt leads worship at Praise Chapel in Downy, California. During this time he has been writing the music God has placed on his heart, even leading worship with his original material. “My goal is to write songs which give God the glory and praise He alone is worthy of”. With an acoustic guitar, pen and paper, Matt began writing the words God gave him to write. Though some of the songs he writes are convicting, they’re songs that God has given him, being reminded that he is not the only one facing trials in life. The song “At Your Feet” comes at a time in Matt’s life where he realized that through trials it’s easy to say as a Christian that we “gain our strength from God”, until we’re broken and At His Feet. It is then when we realize that we’ve been using our own strength the entire time.

In January 2008 Matt's wife Yoli was diagnosed with the most aggressive form of breast cancer, called Inflammatory Breast Cancer. During this time Matt continued to travel, leading worship at various venues but combined his ministry with the one God gave his wife. Although Yoli had been in the process of chemo and facing marjor surgery, she still took the stage encouraging others that God is with us in the midst of the storm, and to keep our eyes on Him and Him alone. After visiting various churches Yoli had surgery. Matt and her received news 5 hours later that the cancer was gone. God had healed her of this cancer known as the "Silent Killer". The doctors gave her a clean bill of health, but advised both of them that they would not be able to have children. The chemo had made it impossible for Yoli to become pregnant. However Matt and Yoli found, that their faith has already been revealed through the healing of this cancer. So they held onto the fact that we serve a BIG God where nothing is impossible. Yoli and Matt are now expecting a new child to enter the family in September. God is good!

Matt’s goal is not to gain profit, not to gain fame or glory, but to truly write music that gives God the praise He’s worthy of. “I want the songs that God gives me to bring the lost home and all Christians a conviction that will build and grow their relationship with God”. Matt closes in saying, “My eyes will remain focused on God. I will strive to seek him first. I want the listeners to focus on the music, the words, and to truly examine their relationship with Jesus Christ.
