Hotly Tipped London indie rockers Prego record debut album before heading out on tour in October
Following the release of their recent single ‘The Longest Calm’ on NME journalist Mark Beaumont’s new label Year Zero Recordings, Prego have buried themselves in the studio with Guy Massey this summer to record their debut album before heading out on the road for extensive dates this October.
2009 has seen Prego guest as Steve Lamacq’s new favourite band on 6Music, featured in the introducing pages of Kerrang and NME, and been busy on tour including dates with People in Planes, Red Light Company and The Boxer Rebellion.
With their debut album recorded the boys are preparing to head out on a UK tour

"Prego are brilliant. They make massive-bollocked 'new shoe' rock and will make you feel so much in heat you'll rub your arse ragged on the new lino" - NME
“They’ve choruses the size of new-build Far East skyscrapers and breakdowns as skin-prickling as the finest instrumentalists out there in post-rock land” – Drowned in Sound
“So slick is their set one can’t see past the dollar signs flashing neon in the eyes of the assembled industry types. Previous comparisons have been made to Death Cab for Cutie; tonight suggests that this London quintet are capable of a rock far mightier” – Rocksound Magazine
“The music’s a mix of intricate, luscious melodies, culminating with massive, thrash rock finishes that pay off colossally” - Gigwise
“There's nowt quite like a bit of ultra-sinuous singalongapost-fraggle with some gratuitous Fugazi plugging, is there? And, hallelujah, that's precisely what Prego have come to deliver in their own inimitably handsome and recklessly raucous fashion” – Playlouder
”Prego release their own brand of stunning rock with unrelenting melodic fury and intricate lyrical grace” – Rockfeedback
“Prepare to be stunned by a sound that's larger than you might have imagined possible as it escalates into epic proportions that will slowly but surely hook you in with its haunting melodies” – Rocklouder
