   Andras's Blurbs
About me:
I am the son of a Dream Poet and synchronicity is my travelling companion.

I host a radio show called Radio8Ball on KAOS 89.3 FM. It's a call-in divination show where questions are answered by picking songs at random. There is also a live version of The Radio8Ball Show which is presented monthly at The Capitol Hill Arts Center in Seattle and for limited engagements in cities around the world.

I write songs and act in films. I've acted in numerous feature films and can honestly say that every single one has had a powerful effect on my life. The roles seem to pick me. I've developed what I call a shamanic attitude toward the acting craft and this makes for some very interesting adventures in the vicinity of rolling cameras and theatrical stages. My songwriting has also led me into many interesting situations and opportunities to grow and learn. Whether it was writing and performing with my band The Previous, or collaborating with friends like Andy Dick, Willie Wisely, Lisa Jenio, R. Walt Vincent, Shmushkin & Scott Taylor the muse has treated me very well. One of my favorite current musical projects is My Brave Face, the Costello/McCartney tribute band that I perform in with Scott Taylor. You can find out more about this by clicking the My Brave Face link in the top friends below and for more information about my own music check out the PREVIOUS MUSIC link.

I am currently writing a column called Manwich about the emerging new masculine archetype for Daniel Pinchbeck's magazine REALITY SANDWICH. So far each of these articles has been accompanied by a song which I have written and which is performed by my good friend Andy Shmushkin. For more info on Shmushkin and Reality Sandwich check the links in the top friends below.

My other business activities include working for IndiEclectic.com, a great new online music company as well as offering personal assistant work to healing artists. I have experience booking tours for singer-songwriters like Shmushkin, Willie Wisely, Bart Davenport, Sandman, Anya Marina, Chris Chandler, Stephan Smith, Randy Kaplan, Bob Wiseman & Jim's Big Ego.

If you want to find out more about my music or the films I've acted in you can visit my website: http://www.andrasjones.com. It's kinda out of date. One of these days I'll get to it.
Who I'd like to meet:
People who laugh easily and are so cool that they aren't afraid to look uncool. Ugly ducklings all grown up. Mystics. Revolutionaries. Fans of indie-pop. No jealous lovers. No war mongers.

Reed

Bid me now this spell unfold,
A pinch of salt, a horny toad,
A bit of magic, well foretold.
A sing song sung in days of old.

Now breathe thee deep the power of son,
Breathe thee deep, this will be fun,
Breathe deep and smile with childish pride,
Breathe deep, bring energy inside.

Breathe deep and see a brand new day.
Where magic once again holds sway.
And Michael with a hoary laugh,
Performs a jig with ancient staff.

And lightly touches forehead frown,
And lightly whispers,
Al-ka-zom.
And gently smiles, so all can see,
The miracle of a god that’s thee,

And if by chance you cannot see,
Then read this rhyme each day times three.
And share it with those high and low,
For short the time, they’ll come to know.

A pinch of salt, a horny toad.
A little spell that breaks your mold.
A sing song sung in days of old.
Deep magic that was once foretold.
