    .. When THE PRiMMS landed in New York, it seemed absurd at the time but they had no more than a few ideas in their heads and $317.68 between them. With no idea where they would stay and with no idea on how to sustain themselves the future began to look bleaker than the weather. It was probably these circumstances that provided the catalyst that fuelled the Primms. The only solace found would be when they spent the precious hours together playing and writing. Existing in such an isolating metropolis meant that the hardness experienced in their everyday lives poured into the music that they were creating. ...... This, shared with the optimism and vulnerability (a seemingly English peculiarity)produces THE PRiMMS unique fusion of the hard and the soft, the ugly and the beautiful, and the familiar with the unfamiliar. Although the Primms have been playing together since 2001, it's only been since their arrival in New York and the subsequent beatings, robberies and damaging encounters that they feel that they are really alive and achieving the thing they desire most: Sincerity and reality in the music they are making.. .... +++++++++++++++++++ ....     The native-born Jamaican Marvin Anthony Burnett aka Sledgy was born in St. James at September, 27th in 1973.
    At the age of sixteen he came with his brother to Germany to stay with his mother and live a better life. Shortly afterwards young Anthony got down with rapping.
    To do music brings a lot of joy to him. Music is a great pleasure for Sledgy; he feels committed to make music.

    It helped him through his hard time after his entry into Germany which was totally foreign to him at that time.
    After he had rapped a long time for himself to take his mind off his worries, Burnett signed a contract with the label Power Jam Records.
    With conclusion of the treaty his music career begins.

    Under the name of Marvin Burnett he performs onstage (YOU) two times and at Funworld, Bodensee. Furthermore his music appeared on Radio K?ln and Radio 7.
    For two years he has been under contract to Power Jam Records which is known as GUMAK Media e.K. today.

    The Jamaican Burnett is also charitable. He gave many benefit performances, among others at K?lner Zoo, in a retirement home and not least at town hall in Cologne- Kalk.
