In 2003 I met Clint Case(BruiserCustomCycles.com). He had just built his bike and from there I decided I wanted to build mine. He helped me through the process and in 2005 I had my bike ready. My wife told me that her dad had a helmet from back in the day and I asked him for it. It was a bad ass vintage 70's helmet. It was ugly inside but I kept using it anyway. One day Clint told me he could re-do the lining. He made it fit perfectly, it cut the noise and air flow. I started buying more helmets and together we re-did the lining on all of them just for the hell of it. It started out as a hobby, but as people started checking them out, it turned into a business. We then started doing the lining on our friends helmets and word got out that we were the guys that re-line helmets. Clint's specialty is in leather tooling so he told me to go for it and do as many helmets as I could.
I still think of it as a hobby because it doesn't feel like work. I enjoy seeing the finished, customized look.
