Swedish born,
Rikard "Rico" Fredriksson started his first electronic project back in 1996. Inspired by a close friend who was making trance music under the guise Antiloop, Rico started producing music of his own. A drum´n bass track called "flowerpower", was chosen as "demo of the week" on Swedish national radio P3.
This sudden
national support caused by this demo play, inspired Rico to take things to the next level and so he locked himself right back in his studio, determined to master the art of studio production further. A few years, and a lot of learning later, Rico managed to get some remixes done for fellow swedish producers Antiloop and Pinnochio.
Probspot's
first original release, "You and Me", was released in 2002 on the North American label Dedicated Musique. In 2003 Probspot won the remix competition of Solid Globe Northpole held by Fundamental recordings which resulted in a vinyl release. A Probspot track called You Want Me won a talent competition held by Hard To Find Records. This resulted in lots of plays by DJs such as Markus Schultz, Ben Lost, Niklas Harding and James Cosgrove.
2004
started out big with an exclusive record deal with Lost Language, resulting in probspot album, organic waveforms mid 2005. The much succsessful Foreplay EP was released in June 2004 and got great reviews from both DJs and producers. Another Probspot track called Blueberry got signed and released on Electronic Elements (Armada) and resulted in a new alias, Rico Soarez for upcoming productions on Armada.
With lots
of successful tracks and remixes and DJ support from Paul Van Dyk, Markus Schulz, Armin Van Buren, Paul Okenfold, Above & Beyond among others, Probspot is considerd one of the top producers within the edm community today.
Hello!! Here I go with my usual greeting: How are you? :-) I have sent you this comment cos I want to share my new track with you. It's tittled 'Mystical'. You can download it from megaupload clicking on the pic below :-) If you don't want to download it and only want to take a quick listen, you can hear it in myspace aswel ;-) It's more melodic than my last tune 'On The Groove' so I think trance lovers will enjoy it. Of course, it's not perfect but I'm planing some important changes for my future tunes related with the sound quality :-) I don't know if I'll take some time to upload a new tune after 'Mystical' cos probably I'll have to look for a job this summer so I won't have too much time for music (if I do it, it will be my worst nightmare):_( Anyway, I'm not sure about this yet. As always, if you're interested in sending me a feedback about 'Mystical' it will be really welcome. Hello!! How things are going this time?:-) I'm here cos, first, I want to tell you hi and, second, I want to present you my new track 'On The Groove'. Yes, I know, its tittle reminds to the famous dance tune 'On The Move' by Barthezz (what a time!) but it's no exactly the same. Maybe I can rate this tune as tech-trance but I'm not very sure (you know I'm living a mess with styles now) :_( I just wanted to play with rhythms and groovy basses. You'll not find a serious and uplifting trance tune this time. I don't know if you'll enjoy it cos maybe I've forgot a little bit my usual melodies:-/ Well... no, I have forgot completely all my usual melodies... ehem:-/ I don't know if I'm following the right way making tracks like this. As all producers and djs, I just want people to dance :-) Please, drop some lines about this tune or about... whatever!! Hello!! How are you? :-) I'm here to present my new trance (yes, this time it's a 100% trance track, not house) track. I have made an strange combination between 90's trance music and... 2008's one. I don't know what will come from this! :-/ I'm listening to tons of new releasings for these days because of my dj sets and this is influencing me a lot in my new productions. Arg!! Raquel, stop talking and go to the point!!:-P I need to ask you something. I'm needing an advise and I don't know what to do :-( What should I make more: trance music like this new track (its tittled is 'Not For Real', or something more similar to house music like 'Love Shines Through'?? 'Love Shines' was number 1 in soundclick's house charts so maybe people are enjoying more these kind of tunes. I'm lost!! May you give me an advise? It will be really welcome:-) Sorry for speaking too much one more time and tons of thanks for your understanding and help:-)
