Daedalus is an experimental progressive band from Genoa, Italy.
In our music we try to combine a complex harmonic texture, elaborate rhythmic elements and clear melodic lines, melting and alternating different atmospheres in a gradual or sudden way, trying to create an overwhelming and fascinating musical journey while keeping the structure of the songs rather simple. Each member of the band contributed to define our style, adding original ideas to elements derived from classical music, jazz, rock and metal. We have been playing for several years in live performances, gaining a good response from the audience. In October 2003 we signed a contract with New LM Records label and we published our first album 'Leading far from a mistake'.
Roland Grapow (Helloween, Masterplan) mixed the tracks of our second album 'The never ending illusion', which was published by Galileo Records in January 2009. The cover artwork is a drawing by Mark Wilkinson (Marillion, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden). Singers Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth) and Alessandro Corvaglia (La Maschera di Cera) appear as guest musicians.
